Did anyone else see the video on instagram of Dailey and Wilson blocking with closed fists? Is this to avoid being tooled, or was this just a gimmick or something? I have never seen anything like that before. inquiring minds (aka, me) want to know! It was obviously intentional, so now I'm curious.

I have never seen anything like that before. Seen a lot of commentary about the Japanese Olympic team using this tactic. Could have been something the team picked up when playing in Japan over the summer.

The return of Thigpen has really helped and her athleticism reminds of Tealer when she playing front row.. Amazing that we are in position to win the expanded SEC. And we still have a higher ceiling.

It would be so damn funny if they win the SEC after all the Texas hype and the terrible start

Thigpen has earned her spot as OH2 and even if Lamb comes back I don't know how you put her over Thigpen at this point.

Lamb was pretty good early in the season, but probably shouldn't mess with the lineup that has got you going lately. Crazy that we know nothing about why Lamb has even been out this long either.

I don't see Lamb playing again this season. She may be "cleared" before December but doubtful she's at 100% or game ready. The next question is if she is eligible for a medical redshirt. She didn't play in a single conference game so I'd assume she's eligible for one.

If Lamb comes back, she could play on the RS potentially. Not sure how Megan's numbers have looked lately, but Lamb can really take over a match.

Given that whatever is keeping her out isn't volleyball related, I'm not surprised we don't know more, and Lamb doesn't owe anyone an explanation for what's going on in her personal health.

I've always been a Lamb fan. She has won matches over the years for UK but would definitely say Thigpen is more athletic than her and probably a more natural OH. Lamb has a huge arm and would prefer on the right pin over Wilson. I hope she takes a fifth year (medical redshirt) and would love to see her train to be UK's OPP next year.

I don't think you mess with the line-up either and Thigpen is really exciting/promising, but Lamb had good matches against Nebraska and Penn State during preseason. We haven't seen Thigpen have a strong match in the front-row against a team close to that caliber yet. Lamb had 5 matches with 10+ kills before her injury, and was taking 30+ swings routinely. Thigpen has one 10+ kill match, and has never been set more than 30 times.
I think one key to Thigpen's success is UK hasn't relied on her as much as they did on Lamb. Grome's distribution is helping Thigpen and others shine.
