Obviously don't have much of a chance against Texas to win the SEC again ... I'm not really trying to be pessimistic Do you honestly think anyone but Texas is winning the SEC next year with all they have coming back and in from the portal? You seem to have this agenda against me on every post for some reason. I want the best for Kentucky but I'm going to be realistic here. We should be top 3 in the SEC next year and if we land some middles I think we finish 2nd and there is nothing wrong with that.

I don't have an agenda against you. I just don't think you're "realistic" as you keep claiming -- I think you're pessimistic. You seem overly concerned with big names and big recruits. There are like 5 active UK fans on this forum, and when one of those fans frequently posts negatively about the program, the lack of big recruits, lack of big transfers, it gets old. That's all.
Yes, I think Kentucky has a chance to win the SEC again. Hell, guess who's probably the best coach in the country at scouting against Skinner and Rutherford...

Btw Benjamin and Thigpen are in the UA game on ESPNU at 4:30. I know these all-star games are pretty lousy ways to judge players, but I'm excited to see them in action, especially since A5 and Triangle had like one game on Youtube this year. Definitely interested in how Thigpen does at libero.

Texas is probably the favorite on paper but certainly Kentucky and Florida are in the mix to win the conference. And Texas reminded everyone championships are not won on paper. A lot of time until October (conference play).

personally I feel like Kentucky will be fine as long as they get somebody from the portal in the middle
the team will be dangerous

Kentucky did an amazing job this year of always getting better. The improvement from August to December was huge. That's what I'd look for in a program.

I feel like the team was set in old ways. It took them a bit to get Joseph's style and what he was implementing. I'm excited about the new players and their fire.

Thigpen and Benjamin both had solid showings in the UA game. I think both will play early next year, especially Benjamin. Getting major Stumler vibes from her.

Are we so sure that Texas is going to mop the floor with KY? There’s a pretty decent shot KY has the advantage at setter, likely the middle although marginal, and probably overall stronger passing/floor defense. Skinner and Rutherford will be better than KY’s. top two pins but Deleye and the potential of the others will certainly compete. I except it to be a dogfight. Throw the chance of Florida taking a game from either/both and it will likely be a tight race.
I would be interested to see how often teams underperform in a new conference. Texas is at a disadvantage with it being their first year in the conference in my opinion. Almost everywhere they travel will be a new city, new gym, new players to scout, etc
