If they showed this on the TV broadcast of the football game, I missed it. Jordan was honored on the field, with Silver Medal in tow.

After watching NE, TX, WI, MN and Stanford this weekend, it appears NE coaches and players have a lot of work to do to reach their stated goals. Not knocking NE, but there is so much talent in WVB.
TX vs WI match interesting. Both have great floor defense, which led to many long rallies. Not sure if it was a purposeful strategy, but TX took a lot of tips and roll shots to get over WI block, contributing to long rallies. In the end it appeared WI tired out.
GBR!

In the SMU post-game Coach Cook, commenting on their busy schedule these 1st 2 weeks, said he: 'may need to play more players. We have more players that are ready to play...' (not an exact quote, but close).
We'll see. Heard stuff like that before, but it doesn't happen. However this might be the deepest quality depth NE has had for a while.
Also noted that Harper when asked post-game why she went from 3 rotations in set 1 to 6 rotations later, shrugged and said Coach likes to change things up. Two insights: 1) Harper is improving at press conferences (knew she would) 2) Coaches have prepared their players to expect substitutions.
GBR!

This is the same coach that said Boesinger was either 1st or 2nd in every passing category and had really improved, yet was clearly DS #4 in his eyes at the Red/White scrimmage a couple days later. JC just talks to hear himself talk sometimes.

Louisville and Pitt looked really good. Not so sure about Stanford and Minn. we will learn more today.

JC just talks to hear himself talk sometimes. He was complementing Boesinger for hard work and improvement. Thats good coaching, recognizing achievement. As far as playing time, look who she is competing with. If she transfers, she will likely start at libero on her new team in 25.

Maisie is a good volleyball player but it’s a stretch to say she’d be the starting libero elsewhere. He publicly complimented her before she season started about her passing stats. Last year, he did the same thing with Hayden Kubik, saying she something about her having a great spring and showing she can pass and such. She didn’t really see any court time either.

I noticed he likes to do this with players he has on the bench. He said something similar about skylar pierce this weekend too. And orr/reilly were supposedly neck and neck heading into last season, according to cook. From a coaching perspective, I get it's for player morale. But cook does it so much it's really gotten kind of transparent.

And Kubik is starting at TN. Stick by my opinion: Maisie is good enough to start at libero, at more D1 teams than not.

After watching Minn/Stanford I feel confident Nebraska can handle both those teams. I thought the Texas/Wisconsin match showed very high-level volleyball in the first set, then the play regressed and got sloppier the longer the match wore on. If Wisconsin plays against Nebraska the same way they did in set 1 against Texas, Wisconsin will win. If Wisconsin plays the same way they did in sets 3 and 4, they will lose.

WI needs to get Franklin healthy, but that is tough if they continue to set her so much. IMO TX beat WI with tips and roll shots coupled with strong floor defense, which resulted in long rallies. WI became tired. Then in sets 3 & 4 TX dominated. This was a full match strategy, not a set strategy. Not many teams can use this strategy because WI also has great floor defense. And will win most long rallies.
