Has Lee F from Volleyball Mag tradionally not liked Nebraska? His vlogs this year are not very supportive of NU. Thought Stanford would easily take us… Raved about them having best setter in the country… and the on hitter Rubin… Rubin this Rubin that…. Picks another Libero over Lexi as best in country. Acts like he doesn’t want to talk about NU… At the end of his chat with Emily Ehman she asked him his thoughts on Louisville / NU. He didn’t respond… podcast ends…. Strange…

Strange… I believe it is the fact that John Cook is not as gracious with the media as a number of other coaches. I.e. Sheffield, shondell, DBK, and others. He has been given short answers to his questions during press conferences etc. I think it’s quite natural that John Cook and Nebraska are not his favorite. His business relies on coaches giving him good insight and content but John doesn’t do that for him… |

It’s my opinion that you don’t need to subscribe to Volleyball Magazine as a Nebraska fan if you watch the press conferences for free online, follow the players on social media, and get your match information/times from the pinned threads on this website. Lastly, I personally believe Feinswog baited Harper at last year’s post-match press conference against Texas, so this could be why he might not be well liked by Cook (just speculation on my part). At the season opening tournament in Louisville, Cook was taking questions after playing Kentucky, and when Feinswog asked his question, you could see Cook scowl and lose interest right away when he heard his voice. I’m delighted Mauch is getting the spotlight that she rightfully deserves for her phenomenal passing and continued development as a floor defender. Her coverage at the net is becoming so noteworthy! I forgot which Husker poster said this, but she could have been a game changer for Nebraska last year against Texas. 🥲 |

Noted. And fair. I was wrong. I incorrectly assumed that a player displaying narcissistic unsportsmanlike conduct on the court, dropping unprovoked FB bombs across the net, that is arrested and charged for stealing and driving drunk *might* untether a team. But Cook seems to have gotten his hands around the problem. He probably had a moment of clarity on one of his quiet visits to church. Or he has some personal experience with it. Either way - you can be proud of such elite athleticism. Most importantly, Harper appears to have made needed corrections and has her life back on track. Very happy and proud NE stood by her. |

Feinswog doesn't mention Nebraska or Texas much, probably because those two programs already get the lion's share of media coverage elsewhere. He seems to like talking about the little guys, the underdogs. I notice that in almost all his "weekly roundup" stories he highlights some random Div III player who went off for 34 kills against Div III powerhouse NorthbyNorthwest Directional State University...or something like that. That appears to be his schtick. |
