I am not disagreeing with you at all on Little. She should start every match of the year and play every set. Because Little wasn't used like she should have been last year, she doesn't have the experience of fighting through the rough patches that freshman generally have so I am guessing she will hit a couple of bad patches this year. It is going to be very interesting to see if Heather will help her through the "freshman" jitters or toss her out and put Eden Bower in. I hope the answer is to leave Claire in the matches, but I don't hold much confidence that Heather will keep Bower on the bench. It particularly bothers me when Stowell should be the player who gets PT instead of Bower. Uluave just has to come and save the backrow. Utah lost to UVU last year, but I think that UVU is down on talent this year so I want to see Utah/BYU #2 just to get a feel for BYU's passing improvement. Johnson can pass at an average level as can Miller. Billeter is a competitive girl, but she isn't an above average libero. Uluave has to be what BYU needs and it will be hard for a freshman to take that mantel without growing pains. We will see in the first preconference tourney how Heather has managed the situation.

Another thing about the UVU scrimmage. I did find it interesting that all of Bobik's time (two sets) was on the right. Only her and Prior got any time on the right. In general I'm high on her as a prospect, and I liked what I saw. Still, she didn't get enough swings on the right to say anything with much confidence.

The 2024 conference schedule is out: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5WOb7uRH8M Frankly, I'd rather play Baylor and Kansas twice than double dipping with all the mountain schools, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Yeah, not surprising at all. I do like that it ends the back to back playing the same team schedule, and personally I do like playing Utah twice.

Heather Olmstead on BYU Sportsnation. As always it's light on any technical volleyball talk. Mostly a general discussion of competing in the Big 12

Erin Livingston not coming back for Fall 2024:
That sure changes things for next season.
She had a nice career, and developed into an exceptional offensive OH. BYU will really miss her offensive production.

Interesting that Mary Lake Bennett is back playing volleyball (I did notice she showed up in one of BYU's practice videos a week or so ago): http://instagram.com/p/C5oXUqGP1f8

I think she only retired because she didn't want to go overseas, which is completely understandable. But she's only 25, and she was good enough to be on the senior national team while she was still in college. I'm very excited to see how she does at the pro level. Edit: also, Jordyn Poulter, who has been assigned to Salt Lake, made a comment about reuniting with Lake on this post.

I missed this one that’s HUGE news for BYU. It is. She had a great career, especially for a walk-on. But she's been in school since 2019, so it's understandable that she and her husband have decided to move on. While Livingston will be difficult to replace, the silver lining is that it's another year for someone else to develop. Given that BYU is already replacing its setter, libero and top DS, it was going to be a bit of a rebuild anyway. But maybe the extra development for one of the pins will pay off next season.

Most reliable way to get a azvb post is to mention Mary Lake.
