Yea, I'm guessing the post-season conversation was that Bayless had moved ahead of her...makes sense for her to seek an opportunity elsewhere... With the talent on the pins, I don't think Bayless gets significant playing time...can't imagine them going to a 6-2 often, so VVG, Stafford, Babcock will have the 3 pin spots with Bayless being that next option. Could easily see Bayless over VVG depending on how the spring goes- Bayless is way more physical! I don't want to completely dismiss this possibility, but what prevented that this past year? Probably VVG's ability to be 6 rotation?

Probably VVG's ability to be 6 rotation? Yeah probably VVG having a solid all around game- but also it’s a possibility Bayless just had to adjust to the speed of the college game- learning to hit a little higher, etc. Things that can really be focused on in the spring.

we wouldn't have found anyone better in the portal than bringing Cat back.
looks like the only open scholie now is the one vacated by Dalton.

It will be interesting on where Fisher puts that last scholly. My guess is a passing little provide options. Very curious about Bayless playing time this coming season. Dalton move makes total sense for her. She deserves a shot at playing a lot. I am guessing that she will take a program where there isn't a question of playing time/competition, where the program will not be in the ACC and the new program has a solid probability of playing in the tournament. She will need to look hard at the existing roster and find a perfect fit.

18yo Argentinean MB Bianca Garibaldi now follows most of the team on Instagram. Signing her would bring us to four middles on the 2024 roster and five for 2025. I wonder if Abby Emch is likely to reconsider her commitment if BGaribaldi signs. This is a solid move for this roster. Unfortunately there is going to be 1 or 2 MB's that are unhappy with playing time come season time. It appears to me that the moves last pre-season were made because Fish didn't trust the development of Jepsen. Even before her injury she had a very short rope. My guess is that she gets another chance this year at MB2 but with another short rope. If she can't crack the starting rotation then she will leave/exit the program. Pitt just can't afford a scholly for a MB who isn't at the level they need. But, she might fill the role and blossom but I have my doubts on the amount of trust Dan puts into her ability to read what is going on after the initial serve sequence.

Not getting a medical redshirt year is concerning, but that doesn't mean that she can't crack that starting lineup if she stays healthy. Don't be so touchy about her. Any comments regarding BYU and Jepsen deal with BYU, not Pitt. BYU didn't offer her and Dan did. So it is interesting to watch the talent evaluation play out. Just looking logically at the situation, last year Pitt brought in Emma and talked Chiamaka out of "retirement" in the early summer. That means Fisher was worried about the MB position. Those 2 are both gone now, but with Jepsen and Bre coming off injury he has to be concerned that he needs cushion in the middle this coming fall season.

I really would like to see Blaire Bayless receive some serious playing time. I hope these moves do not cause her to transfer because she was a pretty high rated recruit.

Offseason moves not showing faith in Jepsen…lol…she was literally the last middle on roster in the spring. Of course they were going to bring in more middles. Nwokolo wasn’t coming back at that point either. Definitely not a reflection on Jepsen

Fact is depth wins championships. You have to have it and the landscape at the top has to always have options and room for players to go to the level of this program has seen. H2P!

Do you think Bayless could beat out VVG for the starting role? She looked decent in the limited playing time she received in 2023. Hindsight it Fisher probably should have redshirted her though...
