People on that Brazil match thread have me so confused.
Both in 2 sets against Brazil you have: A. Skinner: 8-1-25, passed 45% positive on 22 receives Frantti: 8-3-21, passed 26% positive on 23 receives
What am I missing that has people choosing Frantti over A. Skinner for Paris?

Frantii is better out of system, thats about it. i feel like skinner passes better.

Larson, I'm sorry I ever doubted you. Not necessarily saying she deserves to be a lock for Paris, but she certainly contributes. I wouldn't be upset if she's a part of the final 12. The problem then becomes Krob. I really don't want to see both of them out there together...

I guess I’m still in that stage of volleyball fan where I don’t discern good hitters in system vs OOS well. But a lot of the issue against China seemed to start with bad passing anyway, and I haven’t noticed a large upgrade in OOS hitting with Frantti that I would think compensates for a downgrade in passing like I might with Plummer.

It’s odd for me to see someone question Skinner’s arm strength. I know international play has a different standard than NCAA, lbut Skinner regularly blisters the ball in college matches. Is it really her arm strength being questioned or is she simply not hitting the ball cleanly enough with enough consistency? It’s judt an odd comment to me, albeit as someone who literally watches zero international play and so comes from a place of abject ignorance. because Madi doesn’t really have a “strong arm” imo. She can absolutely bounce balls bc she has more of a whip. I think she would struggle some on the right OOS because she won’t be able to get on top and hit the ball with a ton of heat. When she smashes the ball it’s because she was able to get on top of it and whip through it. That being said in system she’s terrifying but I’m not sure how heavy an arm she has OOS on the right yet Do we have anyone better though?

The problem then becomes Krob. I really don't want to see both of them out there together... I’ve watched so.much. Kelsey this year! She had one of her best seasons. She was hitting aggressively. her defense was great, her serve-receive was great. She is better than Larson right now! I’d start Cook/Plummer. Give Plummer a chance to pass, pull her from the back row at 20, if needed, then sub her back in when she rotates to the front. My starters are: Carlini? Plummer/Cook Middles: Opp: Libero: Hentz? Wish we would have given Grey a chance at setting. She won the Brazilian championship after all. I’m not sold on any of our middles. Hall was the best here but I watched her this year and she wasn’t spectacular.. I have not watched Chiaka this year at all but I was expecting so much more. I’m not sold on Rettke or Washington and Asia is injured. Opp: love JT if she’s healthy. Drews? Hmmm… Need more options. We need a heavy hitter. The best hitters at every team nowadays are the opposites, not the outsides. Haak, Antropova, Egonu, Bosko, etc. M. Skinner and Kipp are not powerful enough. So much to do! Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be ready by Paris. Need to rebuild for LA 2028.
