Pretty low sample size of Madi’s stats don’t you think before writing her off already? She’s a better option than Cuttino who’s #3 on opp depth chart It’s not a huge sample size, but it’s 2 full sets against Brazil’s A team, and when you’re talking about a medal contender for the Olympics, that’s the exact type of situation someone on the Paris roster could be pulled into, so you have to execute. I said “yet.” She could go pro right now and start on a great team. She’ll rock LA28. She’s just not there for Paris. And Eggleston is #3 (at least) on the opp depth chart, no matter what Karch says. I'm a huge Madi fan and agree but also you can't deny that a lot of those Poulter sets she got were.... tragic.... it is very unfortunate that our starting setter spot is so debatable. My dream would be to see a Brie King type-of-talent on our court that can set money OOS. 😭

She made Vicini look 5 feet tall at the regional final this year. That’s not going to be possible against a lot of national teams—one does not simply hit over China’s middles or Carol. She was able to adapt to not being the highest hand in the air during the Senifinal against Wisconsin after really struggling for a set and a quarter. We’ll see if she can make a similar adjustment here

Madi will make an adjustment. If she gets the start against DR, she’s gonna want to have a standout match.

Seriously Cuttino has no place on the floor. Look at the difference when she was subbed out.

Do you mean last year’s VNL charade? Or 2022’s? I mean like no VNL ever. USA has NEVER gone worse than 3-1 or 2-1 in any single week of VNL play. The likelihood they go 2-2 is extremely low. 1-3 is a sick pipe dream. welp

No but she isn’t Plak level lmao cuttino actually did hit negative against brazil, so skinner was an improvement. madi plays much better defense, i think she has 14 digs to cuttinos 6 in this VNL? just having madi on the floor (+/- wise) makes a difference. cuttino isn’t terrible but there’s no case for her to be on the floor over madi
