I blame Cansu for some of that. JT was never good at hitting moon balls. None of our opposites are great OOS terminators. no matter how much you want to spin it 4 points/set hitting sub .270 is just not good enough she was putting up those same numbers in national team summer as well basically (I filtered for the good teams) Is Drews doing any better though? She is hitting against some of the smallest blocks in the world over in Japan. Plus she is terrible at back court defense, serving and blocking. All are areas JT is better in. I personally don't care who starts at OPP for team USA. I just want someone who isn't a complete liability. Our system relies heavily on our OH's being more terminal. I just hope Cook and Larson/Plummer/Frantti etc.... can carry that offensive load.

And to keep ignoring Logan? By the way i will certainly own that i doubted if she had it. But i love when one of our players proves my doubting wrong.

I’m definitely a homer, but legitimate question here as I’m not familiar with pro as much. Is there a reason why some people have Cuttino on the OPP list and not Eggleston? Even though Eggleston is playing over her in that position professionally? tdkb

It could be the same group yet completely different starters. Wait for - Krob/KP LC/Drews Chi/Donna JWO Only JWO started in 2021 You think Drews will start over JT? I'm over Annie at this point. She is just toooooo streaky. More than JT for sure. I want to see that lineup with Poulter running the offense, if she is in good form. Drews has saved us almost every time she’s been asked this quad as has Carlini really. Everytime JT couldn’t get it done, Drews was there 75% of the time. I just watched the qualifier match against Germany .. look at how the team was playing before JT was subbed out. We have to have a the opposite scoring points.. especially if Karch is going to start Larson opposite Cook. Not sure why Drews gets as much negativity as she does. Is her defense bad, sure.. but she seems to bring the hammer when we need it most. I’d actually call her clutch in tight moments. I just don’t know about JT.. she’s extremely up and down.

For funsies here is my updated VNL wide roster wish list: S: Poulter, Carlini, Hancock, Gray, Evans OH: Cook, Larson, Plummer, Frantti, Lanier, Skinner, SWP, Bajema MB: Ogbogu, Washington, Rettke, O'Neal, Hall, Butler, McCage OPP: Thompson, Drews, Cuttino, Kipp, Mims L: JWO, Hentz, Fleck I went with 28 for the training roster. I suspect it to be narrowed down as the VNL progresses. We are just under 45 days away from first serve! I'm excited! five sneaks

Drews was terrible in the 2023 VNL finals. Like reaaaally bad. Then again, Hancock was setting her. I'm curious how she will look with Carlini or Poulter setting her. Hopefully we will get that chance plenty of times this summer.

I think that might be my agenda lol. For the record, I want Annie to get into Tokyo 2021 form and I'll be on board. I haven't seen that from her in a while. Consistency seems to really plague both her and JT. Is it the setter? Off to rewatch that IOQT Germany match now.

Every one of them has been good to mid to downright bad at times.

I just don’t know about JT.. she’s extremely up and down. Because when she's bad she's really really bad. She's almost always really good or really bad. For every good memory she has a bad one that sticks out to me. At this point she is what she is. But between her and JT, your odds are pretty good one is going to be hot. Just start one, if the other one is cold put the other one is. The system is working for them.
