Why would Oregon book a flight with a layover when they can just fly to Minneapolis direct?

Why would Oregon book a flight with a layover when they can just fly to Minneapolis direct? Unless they’re doing a charter flight, would be impossible to do a direct flight from Eugene to Minneapolis. They could fly direct from Portland, but that’s a 2.5-3 hour drive, so it’d just be faster to roll up to Eugene airport and take the layover.

They charter most of their trips. But, 2.5-3 hours from Eugene to Portland? Are you walking it? It's 1:30-1:45 at most from Eugene to Portland.

It’s at minimum 2 hours to Portland unless you’re a speed demon, which if they’re taking a charter bus to the airport, they won’t be. You’d also have to factor in traffic on I-5 and 1-84. Also, Google Map U of O to PDX. It’s 2 hours no traffic.

Those of you pitying Oregon for their travel should check out what teams in the AAC or WAC or even the D2 RMAC have to deal with.

Even if charters weren't in the picture, it's easier to get to Minneapolis than it is to get to Pullman.
Oregon's travel is very comparable to what they did last season - and that's with 2 weekends on the road in non-con! Depending on the extent of charters, travel could be MUCH less of a burden than it was last year.

Have any SWAC schedules been published yet? I'm curious how many P4 teams they'll be playing.
