Is the future for PSU looking bleak? Not saying their coaching staff won't coach up these younger players but losing both middles, and both pin passers leaves nothing... and Kerr is a pretty big shoe to fill. I don't know about PSU fans, but I'm terrified. I'm curious about what this freshman class can do but none of them have seen any meaningful playing time outside Schwob. since they wont get an at-large now, might as well develop the bench outside of conference play and make sure they win the EIVA

Well that's not good. Awesome win IPFW! Good for Hawaii since we don't play Penn State this year.

Why did Kowal take that 2nd ball? Knowing Valenzi has been getting blocked all through the 5th set. So many missed opportunities. Oh well. Congrats PFW. With Kowal being PSU main point scorer they will not get far... but agree his last set was really bad

The refs let a lot more flagrant than usual throws/lifts/carries by PSU go w/o calls, especially in the fourth set. PFW players were visibly upset with it. Which PSU observed and then seemed to get very deliberate about doing it more... testing the boundaries of which there were none. But that 'soft' style offense came back to bite them in the fifth, as PFW adjusted, and PSU lost some offensive rhythm and made some critical attack errors.
