So they decided to go cheap? Big surprise. lol, knew the nay-sayers wouldn't take long not necessarily. they had two choices. Do this, or open a search to fill by mid APril. doing the latter would basically have no incentives to the current staff. Complete re-start. depends on how the two current assistants are regarded. no question they don't come with the huge resume. Doesn't mean they can't succeed. Reagan will need to get a setter coach, I'd think #1 there wouldn't be an obvious choice to take over, even if they'd get a huge number of applicants. do I think the AD has volleyball acumen? nope, he'll ahve to reach out to get that help.

Virtually everything in life involves at least two choices. The AD (or administration) deciding that they will muddle along for a year so they can try to get it together is a choice.

Walters did just fine at Cal Poly, starting with even less experience.

She was even an interim head coach for most of a season almost a decade earlier.

I was referring to her having to take over as an interim. And yes, that was followed by the Crosson era with the daughters of 80s team. Walters was about 28 years old when she became interim, younger and less overall experience than Reagan is now. ANd having coached under a quite a personality as well. Reagan has more experience now that Walters had. Yes, I know it's not identical. Point being, being in that position suddenly doesn't have to necessarily be a negative. Crosson was lucky to have two legacy recuits with an incentive to come to Cal Poly.

Crosson was a bust after he left CAL POLY!!! And,...maybe Tyler deserves to end up the same? But I'm digressing. Bringing in an assistant to be the HC very seldom works. Coach Walters had the luxury of some outstanding players. After they graduated she struggled and might again, if not for a very talented recruiting class. Having a great assistant coach like coach Borchin has also been great.

Beach needs to worry about players possibly entering the portal soon.

Is she keeping the offense? I don't know if they can recruit to it without Tyler.

Beach needs to worry about players possibly entering the portal soon. If they want to stay in the BW, I'm guessing every BW team has a "wants" list. Let the hunt begin.

Congrats to Natalie Reagan for being named interim head coach. I remember when Matt Ulmer became the assistant at Oregon and they let their head coach go and made Matt a young interim head coach and he made the best of it. He has grown into a quality head coach and hopefully Natalie can do the same and get the interim title taken off in time. I am looking forward to next year to see what she can do with an experienced returning roster. Go Beach!

Congrats to Natalie Reagan! I'm excited to see what she does with this opportunity. I hope that none of the players leave as they do have a great roster.
Tyler talked a big game regarding the LBSU program and won't be able execute it now but he ran a good program in the past 2 years.
