Pender was already starting over Power. Gooch came the year after Pender graduated. What makes you think Power would've beat out Pender and/or Speraw would've given him the L jersey by then? It's not as if he hasn't had experienced players that he's passed up on before for someone else.

They let BYU in with too many service errors IMHO. I think there were 32 ( I think) in the second game.
