Spyros was good, but Henno got snubbed. Typically, there is a set criteria for receiving this award, often involving leading one's team to an undefeated week. Had UCI emerged victorious in the tournament, Henno would undoubtedly have been a strong contender for the accolade. However, it's important to acknowledge that Chakas also displayed exceptional performance, deserving recognition on par with Henno, regardless of the tournament's outcome.

Spyros was good, but Henno got snubbed. Not really snubbed.
Henno's kills & attempts #s skew things. If you looking at Hit%, Chakas hit 0.486 thru 3 games and Henno hit 0.412 If looking at all the other key stats- kills, assists, aces, digs, & blocks and subtract all the errors (hitting, service, reception, block errors), Chakas had 5.18/set and Henno had 3.33/set

Spyros was good, but Henno got snubbed. I think although Henno had an exceptional performance in the outrigger, Spyros’ performance + his emotional leadership gave him the slight advantage over the former. Also Hawaii won 3-0 while UCI only had 1-2. Plus this might be Chakas’ last (hopefully not) NPOW recognition in his collegiate career so it’s just fitting to send him off with a bang. I do really hope he comes back but if his injury is season/career ending then most likely he won’t.

Spyros was good, but Henno got snubbed. You obviously don’t follow competitive sports; a player who’s team had a losing record NEVER get these kind of accolades!

If you looking at Hit%, Chakas hit 0.486 thru 3 games and Henno hit 0.412 Chakas hit .422, not .486. Henno also took over 2x more swings than Chakas on a very close hitting %, which is an argument that it might be skewed for Chakas. I still think it's deserving, his team won, and what may be an awful way to end a career. But, what Henno did this weekend was very impressive and NPOW worthy as well.

Henno's team went five sets with GCU (won), five sets with Lewis (lost), and five sets with Hawaii (lost), and he never came off the court. For the Outrigger he had 175 strike attempts! Add to that an average of at least five serves per set, or twenty-five serves per match, or at least seventy-five total serves for the Outrigger, he took 175 strikes + ~75 serves = ~250 swings.
The right award for Henno is IRON MAN of the week.
Can he continue at that pace? I'd guess not... UCI must diversify its offense or risk losing Henno altogether to fatigue or injury.

At this point does it really matter??? Spyros season is over and done with due to his injury so any competition Spyros did have with Henno for NPOTY is gone. Henno has a clear path way for the ultimate prize.
Let Spyros have his flowers one final time. He is done with the season and is gone as he is a senior after this as well.
