Need direction please. How do college transfers work on the men's side? Assuming window opens up after the season? But isnt that after applications for transfer students are complete and decisions sent out? Still able to transfer even if didnt apply during regular admissions cycle? TIA

Transfer portal for Men's Volleyball is from Sunday April 28th to Monday May 27th this year. They would have to discuss it with the coaching staff who would have to run it through admissions office.

Thanks for the window dates. Good to know. How does the admissions piece work? Able to get into the school after regular admissions cycle has concluded?

Thanks for the window dates. Good to know. How does the admissions piece work? Able to get into the school after regular admissions cycle has concluded? A lot of the bigger schools have rolling admissions. Not sure how the ones without it handle it. I just know that once the discussion takes place the recruits submit an application and the coaches let the admissions office know to flag it and review it.

This ain’t the women’s side. No but where's the men's tea There just aren’t that many impactful transfers on the mens side in D1/2. NAIA is like the women’s side with the transfers. Key transfers last year: - Shew going to UCI - Pat Rogers to Ball State from a closing SFU Brooklyn - Tyler Herget transferred to BYU as a walk on and won the starting spot I’m sure I’m missing a couple, but those come to mind as guys making an impact, but they were not high profile players leaving their previous programs

Some impact transfers from last few years: - Flexen to UCI - Wordlow and Hickman to GCU - Gooch to UCLA

There are a lot of transfers on the men's side, it's just not talked about a lot. Take a look at the rosters and you'll see other colleges instead of high schools listed here and there on a lot of teams. Here is an example for Mount Olive Hayden Frear - OH - Came to MO last year from McKendree. Tate Sandvig - OH - Came to MO last year from Maryville. Looks like he left at the end of the season Nathaniel Brownlee - S - Came to MO last year from Alderson Broaddus. Looks like he left at the end of the season Mert Asma - L - Came to MO this year from Park Kerry Tao - S - Came to MO this year from Tusculum

How about Siapanis going from Ohio State to Long Beach? That's a big one, where would they be without him the last couple of years. I think he was on the MIVA First Team.

Ketrzynski (UCLA) and de Chavarria (NJIT) have been keeping Pepperdine afloat this season.
UCLA picking up Flores (Ball State) is big, even though he's not starting. They had zero real depth at that position.
UCSD getting Lara (Loyola) and Chefran (BYU) has kept them in the Top 20 and got them some good wins.
Diaz (Pepperdine) has soldified McKendree's defense after losing their 4-year starting libero.

It looks likely that Trent Moser from BYU will transfer this year. He hasn't traveled with BYU on the last two road trips (Stanford and Pepp). He last played against UCLA. I don't think he's practicing with BYU anymore. He's a talented player so I assume a number of teams would be glad to get him.

He was on the U21 team last summer I believe. 6'8" OH/Opp, I'm sure some folks will be opening up the door for him. Those who follow BYU, it was odd how he was always on a short leash with Olmstead compared to other players. He led the team at the beginning of this season in kills and all of a sudden was in the dog house after the first set in the second match against UCI and was basically a nonstarter after that.
