Is aziz the digging libero still? Yes. McDonough on serve receive. Aziz on defense. Why is a middle and the setter leading the team in digs?

Confusing how ucsd handles csun 2 times. And csun beats uci and hawaii. The big west tournament is going to be fun.

LOL GOODBYE UCI! Kniffen, you suck. CSUN might be better than we all think and doesn't UCI get the at-large over Hawaii? Theo Edwards is only on his 2nd year as coach. CSUN will be getting better the next few years

LOL GOODBYE UCI! Kniffen, you suck. CSUN might be better than we all think and doesn't UCI get the at-large over Hawaii? CSUN is very good! Coach Theo is great, has his team completely bought in, and they're lethal from the service line. My gripe is UCI had set 1 until Kniffen decided to do the double sub late in the set and then didn't undo it when UCI was bleeding points. Then, he pulled Tangutur late in set 2 for Flexen who struggled to put the ball away for the rest of the match instead of bringing Tangutur back in (who was hitting .250 when he was benched) to help regain momentum. I don't see how a 7-loss UCI gets in over Hawai'i unless they sweep Hawai'i when they meet and then make it to the Big West Championship final. Hell, they still got another match with CSUN and have to survive LBSU at the end of the regular season.

At this rate, no doubt the Big West Tournament is going to be a wild ride. I would think UCI could really use Sani and Gillis back for their senior seasons to steady the ship, but the UCI double sub mandate would likely render them both useless.

Hell, they still got another match with CSUN and have to survive LBSU at the end of the regular season. More of my observations last night: CSUN has dialed back their service aggression last night to now they're getting it in play more. They targeted Cole Power and UCI passed pretty well. Just couldn;t put the ball away. Tangutar was playing well, but was subbed out to get a taller block up in front of Hobus and Phillips. It didn't matter because they were still hitting over the top of the block. Constable along with his 42 asst. had only on service error (that's a lot different than earlier in the season), 1 solo block (on D'Arcy), 6 block asst., 12 digs and a yellow card. Nothing wrong with a little fiestyness. CSUN is starting 3 seniors, a junior and 3 freshman (Phillips, Eitan and Karnezis). They never got down after a play and never gave in. As someone else has pointed out here, they're finally buying into what Coach Edwards is saying. UCI players at time found themselves sprawling out on the floor. I hope CSUN can bring it again tonight.

CSUN is coming to play tonight. They are looking great. I want CSUN to win as it'll make another fun CVW with everyone beating robonthemic 's team lol People Dead to Me: 1. Theo Edwards, Head Coach, CSUN (after the night 1 beatdown) 2. ManapuaSurprise - but I can easily be won back over with a plate lunch from Rainbow Drive-In These matches were fun to watch (even as an Irvine homer). Hobus and Constable are solid. Thankful that UCI was able to respond after the "thing" (aka loss) on Friday night.
