Hmmm…. Predictions for Evan Cory then? he has picked up THE pickup! Can’t be true. Just double checked to make sure my phone wasn’t on silent. No missed calls.

no confirmation of new teams but just hoping Sarah Sponcil can pick up Tina Graudina and Zana Muno (if she plays this szn) picks up Lexy Denaburg
Would be sweet to watch those players team up and play

Would be sweet to watch those players team up and play Probably not going to affect her beach plans, but Sponcil seems to have lost her starting libero spot with the GR Rise, and her replacement played really well last night in a key win as the team battles for a playoff berth in the PVF.

Hate to hear that. Had her play declined? Because all of the reports that I had read thus far seem to indicate that she was playing pretty well.

She may be playing well and the other girl just better and beat her out.

She may be playing well and the other girl just better and beat her out. Yeah, I don't think Sponcil was playing poorly, but her team had lost three straight matches and seemed to be in somewhat of a rut. The other girl is Camila Gomez, who played at Texas A&M and has several years of international pro experience in Brazil. It was a surprise that Sponcil started the season ahead of Gomez in the first place. In other AVP/PVF news, Carly Skjodt has started the last two matches at OH for Orlando and has also played pretty well. She got pulled in the middle of last weekend's match after some shaky passing, but cleaned that up last night and played the entire match. That was also a bit of a surprise because Orlando has a couple of good OH and is also in the middle of the playoff hunt.

I've been feeling kind of badly that the backup Libero hadn't played a single set this entire season. Could be Sponcil under the weather. Could just be the Coach giving time to a backup in case Sponcil goes down. If I'm a coach I don't want to depend on a backup who hadn't played all season. I do agree the backup played well, but don't forget of the 7 liberos in PVF, Sponcil has the best court coverage, and is passing serves at 35% perfect. Hentz is at 30%. White is also at 35%. Murphy at 29%. One other, forget name is at 36%. The other two int he 20s. And Sponcil is by far the best setting libero. She is listed on the roster as Libero/Setter. Not the sort of passing stats that puts you on the bench.
How quickly you forget how Sponcil dominated Eggleston Khat Bell about three, maybe four games ago. You don't see that sort of performance more than once a season.

Eggleston? Yeah, it's certainly not confirmed, but reading other boards, people who follow the indoor game more than I do seem to think Gomez played well enough (plus her previous pro experience) to earn the starting spot. If nothing else, Gomez seemed to spark the team to its best match in a while. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

I don't disagree that Gomez could be a starter on a couple of the teams.

Eggleston? sorry, Khat Bell. Get those Tx OHs mixed up sometimes. Will edit.

The Rise played Saturday 4/6 and then basically play every other day starting yesterday through the end of next week.
