Anybody in the path of totality? I've heard it described as an entirely different experience than even an annular Eclipse. Night and day different, so to speak. š
It's about 60% here. Interesting but not spectacular. Anybody experience the real thing?

I got to experience totality during the 2017 one in Marion, IL and that was enough to scratch the itch. It was clear skies and really cool to see- during totality you could look up and see the corona ring safely without the glasses. The darkness confused the nearby cicadas who started singing as if it were night.
I didn't make the drive today to get within the path of totality but here just outside that path in central Illinois it's clear skies again and I was able to do the colander trick and see the partial eclipse that way. I still have my eclipse glasses from 2017 and briefly glanced up at the sun a little while ago. My neighbor's automatic "dusk till dawn" light flipped on briefly at the darkest point.

We did in Austin. Cloudy skies but it would break just enough to see it and get some good pics. Didnāt get midnight like dark but probably the equivalent of it being 8:30pm this time of the year.
Could hear the night birds start chirping.
Pretty cool event.

Central Indiana here. It was definitely a once in a lifetime view. Even when the sun was 3/4 covered, there was still so much light you may not notice. The best part was the first peek of light after totality. Not many clouds. 3 minutes of totality where I was viewing.

I was golfing and completely forgot about the eclipse. Around 12:30 it seemed cloudy, a tad darker. A guy in the group said, āGuess thatās the eclipse.ā At which point I immediately looked at the sunāoops š«¤.

Yeah, I get one would be excited to be in a total eclipse, but those guys yelping in the video seems a bit too...high, in my opinion.

93% totality in my town(sunny day). With that, I was expecting it to get a lot darker than it did, just a little dusky, with a bit of a strange feel to the light. You had to be at 100% to get the real darkness. Someone could make a lot of money if they invented better viewing glasses. People drove for the 100%. Took a friend of ours 6 hours to make a typical 1.5 drive across NH.

I was expecting it to get a lot darker too. It was like turning down the contrast on a TV picture.
