It’s 100% in the way you’re presenting your dislike, if you gave reasoning that made sense, ok cool. But from every post from you and others, her being ac female coach seems to be the only factor. On the first page of the thread, the only thing I said before you made your incel comment was "not just you", which was in reference to the original poster's comment. After you made the incel comment, I responded to you and said that "...some people just don't like her personality? And that's totally ok, not everyone has to like everyone." I feel like you could inference from that that I find her annoying. Nowhere do I ever imply that I find her annoying because she's a woman, because that's not why. Later, on page 2, I mention that I have no issue with female coaches, and used thevolleybaker as an example, because I see her tiktoks all the time and enjoy them. After looking through what I wrote in this thread, I really don't see how you could conclude that I'm an incel based on what I wrote without making a blind assumption Hmm I just think it’s odd to find someone annoying without reason but hey you do you. If you don’t feel like you should be lumped in with the other incels on this thread then ok but the dislike for dislikes sake reads weird and incel-ish to me. Those are the types that seem to have the biggest issue with her. Her content is pretty mild besides her actively calling out haters. |

Is it just me or does this bay to bay coach piss everyone off with her TikTok’s Why don’t we talk about coaches that are actually annoying, I’ll start The Academy coach that always whines about how somehow seeding screwed his mid teams from getting out of pool play The MVC coach that tells everyone else on the Wisconsin thread how much more he knows than them about Wisconsin volleyball Who else from the midwest sucks? You are absolutely delusional if you think me finding a woman annoying = me being an incel. I don’t like PMEVolleyball’s content either… what does that make me? I have absolutely no issue with women coaching men’s sports (e.g., thevolleybaker), but I am simply not her Arielle’s target audience, and l dislike her content. And that is ok. Not everyone is going to agree on everything, but you claiming that we’re being “incels” is absolutely ridiculous Ok incel lol I know you are, but what am I!!? LOL This discussion thread is great! Imagine being a poster on Volleytalk of all places and complaining about other posting volleyball content online and having a following. From the outside as a coach in a different state Bay2Bay is incredibly successful and has an incredible culture and that's evident when you play any of their teams in any age group.

Initially, I was thinking, “Who is Arielle Houlihan?” Now I'm invested. Her content is interesting, and she appears to be an outstanding coach. I didn't have the extra time to review all her posts, but I like the content.
I didn't see anything on the recruiting she does. I'd be interested in seeing what she does there. Every good coach knows that recruiting builds winning, and culture maintains it.
I don't know anyone who's coached or played for her, but she certainly appears competent. That said, social media is a highlight reel, and seeing her real-life interactions would paint a more valuable picture.
I can see why people like her content. I do, too.

On the real, she has more personality than most coaches do. Club directors, even more so.
Matt's content is legit. Her content....mostly good. I dig the funny stuff. What I cringe at are the seek attention speak to emotion posts.
...aka, checking to see if the camera is on her before she talks to a kid on the topics of being benched or other tough convos. When she quickly glanced at the camera before her talks is super cringe.
At the end of the day, she's got a huge following and people like her, if you don't like her content, don't follow.
