Thanks guys for all the feed back ! Let me know what you want to see me talk about. I’m gonna do 6-10 and then I have a planned video about an introduction to pro vball about the different leagues and competitions so people can understand how it works. Lmk what else uall wanna see Maybe in addition to your top 10 NCAA teams, one more episode on your “dark horse” or surprise team(s) or just a team with an interesting circumstance like head coach change or transfer portal action, etc. of course, VNL is coming up too.

You should start with #10 and work your way up the list. When you start with #1, the rest is just anti-climatic. I made a similar comment, except is it though? I do think the top two are kind of anticlimactic. I think there’s more drama in 6 through 10. Yeah, the top five were all pretty expected. There's more intrigue in the next group of teams.

Hey guys you might remember when me and jwvolley started a YouTube channel covering college vball. I really enjoyed it and wanted to start something again because I love talking about it. Just uploaded my first video detailing my top 5 college teams for next season and gonna start working on 6-10 here in a bit. Wanted to post the video and channel here to get yalls thoughts if you’re interested. I was kinda monotone but it was the first video and I hadn’t talked that long in front of a camera before lol so don’t judge too hard. Lmk what yall think or what you want me to talk about Here’s the video www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLUShSfW/huge fan! am a TikToker too - this stuff can be hard. What's great is TikTok pays decently well for views on videos over 1min long, so these videos can make bank if they get traction. For discoverability on FYP, maybe mix up some shorter form content with pointy points alongside longer deep dives? First 3 seconds of a video matter a ton, so hook people in. Good luck!

I love it! I think it's so brave for anyone to put themselves out there like that. Kudos to you for putting up the video in the first place. I loved the way you covered the teams and players. I'm so excited to see more! The one thing I'd say is be aware of eye contact with the camera. I don't blame you for looking away as often as you did. I do that as well. But it can be distracting for the viewer. I also found it interesting you started with the top 5. Sometimes it can be fun to do a countdown from 10 to 1, but no problems doing it this way, too. Frankly, I feel like the top 2 seem pretty obvious. I agree with your rationale for #1. I think top 10 lists are terrific for conversation fodder. You can do top 10 by position. Top 10 coaches. Talk about the new rules, especially the double contact rule. The conferences are in such a flux for next year. Talk about the most impactful changes and how programs might be affected. Overall great effort! I can hardly wait until you post your next one! part 2 is up ! www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLU9wgCk/

My hope is that since my account already meets the criteria for the creators fund that I can start making some money off these videos eventually if they can get some popularity and then I’ll def put more effort into making them more edited and look nicer with effects and stuff and pictures if it’s lucrative

Good preseason top ten! I kinda forgot about Florida. I'll be rooting for Alexis Stucky and co. to have a healthy bounceback season.

Sometimes a video that you're sure would take off tanks at 1k views. Sometimes a last minute thing gets to 1M. From my metrics, it's roughly ~$0.75-$1.50 per 1k views, so a good video with 1M views can earn ~$1k.

From my metrics, it's roughly ~$0.75-$1.50 per 1k views, so a good video with 1M views can earn ~$1k. Are you familiar with volleyball videos? I would consider 1k for a volleyball video on an incipient channel a sterling success. While I don’t have any experience in starting my own social media channel, I do have a lot of experience in starting up new endeavors. I can say without a doubt it can be a crushing disappointment to have too high an expectation at the beginning. Sometimes simply being courageous enough to begin the journey has to be its own reward, and if you add too many metrics beyond that you’re setting yourself up for failure. To me regardless of the amount of views what madden is doing should be applauded and supported. I am so excited to see where this goes! More important than total views is consistent output, a constant desire to improve the content, passionate and enthusiastic engagement with the people who do support the channel, and an open minded curiosity about where this can go. I firmly believe we’re in a significant growth period for volleyball, and early content creators are in a position where they can possibly be financially rewarded. As an analogue I know quite a few people who got in on the burgeoning interest in high school recruiting for football and basketball in the 80s and 90s who are multi millionaires now. But that’s not the best reason to move forward with it, because that doesn’t happen for everyone. If you’re looking to consistently gather 1m views I don’t know that women’s volleyball is the best subject to pursue expert status in. I think someone like madden is better off seeing this as the pursuit of a personal passion that has its own reward, and if he can make a living wage at some point doing it - well, that’s a heck of a bonus, but not guaranteed.

Thanks guys for all the feedback and compliments. I’m gonna work on some more today because now that my season is over I have more free time.
Would you rather I make a Intro to pro vball video explaining the different leagues and competitions
A “hot take” video where I just list some of my more spicy takes about teams/players
Or a dark horse team video
