I know people like to %*$# on Nate Silver for whatever reason, but I thought this recent post (article?) on substack was pretty good. For most people, politics is about fitting in On student protests, negative polarization, and the politics of identity.www.natesilver.net/p/for-most-people-politics-is-aboutNate should stick to numbers.

The more appropriate analogy for what happened at UCLA last night is the Hamas attack on Israel (not of the same scale of course), where an organized group of people violently stormed and surprised another group of people. No one here has ever condoned the Hamas attack, and no one should condone this one either--unless you're a hypocrite piece of sh*t, that is. honestly you deserve it. The crappy %*$# hole police didn’t show up for an hour and a half while these people were beating the %*$# out of each other. Epic failure on the part of Los Angeles. When you demean people for so long they’re going to fight back. Then you guys bitch and whine when they do fight back after you degraded them? You’re an idiot. This is Democrat management of government at its finest. You people have failed colossally. Why do you hate the police? And what do you think about people chanting “Jews will not replace us”? And what about someone in Congress if they blame problems on Jewish space lasers? Looking forward to your answers. But of course you won’t answer.
