Yeah he is not ready yet to lead that team and it's been really obvious this whole season. That's partially why Charlie is sticking with him ride or die despite his issues with his footwork and setting. Because I know thar Charlie them knows that in order for this young man to learn and feel the pressure is to keep his ass in there to deal with it. It sucks at times as a Hawaii fan...but deep inside I understand why Charlie them are doing it. But it's prepping that young man to be the leader we are going to need him to be especially next season where this squad will be uber talented but super super young. They Charlie them are gonna ride him till the end this season. It's tough to watch as a Hawaii fan.....but I get it. I truly do. And as I've said...it might not look like it now....but I almost guarantee Hawaii fans will he thankful for these bumps on the road now...cause the future looks bright regardless and Tread will need to be leading the charge. I don’t remember, is there a viable alternative as setter? Also, if the team is hitting .318 there’s something going on other than setting. Rn it's Kauling. But next year it's Lowe and most likely a transfer setter. Which will be almost a guarantee cause Charlie them never go without at least two backup setters on the bench. This year is different only cause Shewie left and Buchanan is injured and out whole season. So I expect them to pick up a setter I'm sure. And yes, it's more than setting. Once Spyros went down....so did the hopes of Hawaii fans and even Charlie and staff. Not because they or we don't believe in the team....but because we all knew Spyros was the head of the beast that is Hawaii volleyball 2024. He was Hawaii's everything and the chemistry was just off the charts on the floor with him in there including his vocal leadership which they don't have and still don't have out there. And then we been using both pins that are our weakest passers between the four (sakanoko, Chaz, spyros, thiim) and so that doesn't help with serve recieve at times. Basically it's a lot and other teams been able to fully expose those issues. Credit to them. But as Charlie said.....teams better catch Hawaii now while they have the chance this season. Cause from next season on.....Hawaii is coming hard! |
