All seriousness, love the passion for the sport on here.

Any rumors that you can share? Yes, rumor has it that some kids graduate college and move on to the real world. Pretty sure that is what Vinnie is referencing (knowing his literal humor). Haha, I thought he was being literal

Maybe Trent Moser goes home to GCU?? All their pin hitters are graduating so he could fit right in the starting lineup I think setter transfers could be interesting. There’s some experienced setters with a year left of eligibility. Dan Mangun from Loyola could transfer to start in his final season Bryce Dvorak also allegedly graduated early from Pepperdine, he could either be a grad transfer or go pro. Lots of teams could use him Mangun is foregoing his final year of eligibility (little surprised since Loyola would be even more dangerous with a majority of their starters returning next year) and dvorak is reportedly looking to go to ucsd to fill their new hole in setter

If I'm a setter, how can you not look into transferring to UCI with Sheward leaving? Still have Flexen, D'Arcy, Grigoriev, and Henno (if he doesn't turn pro).

I'm interested to see who they bring in at setter next season. That has been UCI's problem the past few years....inconsistent setting. They always had the pins but never the setting until Sheward came on board. He wasn't flashy but he put up a consistent set and that's all the pins really needed. I could see UCI struggling a bit even with all the returning firepower without a decent setter.

I still think it's weird that nobody has ever come out and stated anything about why he didn't play this season. He was on their preseason trip to Europe and then poof off the roster and the freshmen were starting. At one-point folks stated he decided to graduate early from Pepperdine. He still should have eligibility since he graduated HS in 2020 so hopefully, he winds up somewhere.

It's not like Shewie was deceptive 1000+ sets to Henno. Can you imagine if a Dvorak who was All AVCA, All MPSF goes there? Hell, if I'm Miles Partain, I call up UCI and say Olympics are done, I can come in for a year if you need me.

I heard it through the west coast grapevine, but nothing definitive

Even if he hasn’t completed his degree? I feel like if you’re one year away, you’d stick it out and get it. However, if he got his degree early and still has an extra year of eligibility, then yeah, go pro
