Fair point. Personally, I'd rather have Herr setting me than Brouillette, but both will be solid next year. This may be a hot take, but I still think GCU is going to be top 5 next year. Rogers, Anderson, Lucas, & maybe Moser on the pins. But if Thorne leaves that most certainly changes everything. Pretty sure Anderson is done was a graduate student this year. He had 4 years at Springfield and this season with GCU. So you lose all 3 pins, a middle (Wardlow), and Slight. I don't think GCU will be in the top 10 with all new guys and Werle hardly having played the backups much the last couple of years. Doesn't Slight have another year of eligibility?

Yes, technically Redshirt Junior so he's spent his 4 years in college and wants to move on. They already celebrated him on Senior Night and by all accounts he's got plans to turn pro.

Something else to think about with the transfer window: it’s not like football with 60+scholarships. Each school gets like 3? Paying for out of state tuition to California schools is expensive. I think that’s another thing to think about players transferring in to California schools that aren’t from there.

Honestly most schools are expensive nowadays.

Especially compared to GCU.

Schools have ways of getting SAs help when it comes to making attending their school more affordable. Part of that is being able to offer in state tuition to SAs from out of the state, helping them with the financial aid process, etc.

Schools like Stanford, Harvard, Princeton have huge endowments that can be used for students that qualify.

Didn't realize it was that long ago. You think Speraw will look to add another libero transfer next year or will he be comfortable with Aziz/McDonough. I think Speraw and staff will be take a hard look at the transfer portal for a Libero. Maybe two. Would they go abroad for a libero? Could be just nothing, but a libero from Portugal, Miguel Azenha (2004) follows UCLAMVB, Rowan, and Coop on insta.

Stanford is private so there's no difference for in state vs out of state tuition.

Yes he played 4 years at Springfield college, but unlike D1 the D3 season in 2021 didn’t count towards eligibility like D1 did so he came into GCU with 2 years of eligibility left

If I'm a setter, how can you not look into transferring to UCI with Sheward leaving? Still have Flexen, D'Arcy, Grigoriev, and Henno (if he doesn't turn pro). Isn’t Joe Kalorous coming back tho? I get he’s undersized but I still think he should be the guy for UCI

Wieter looks pretty good here. Good hops, good serve, good range. I'm not sure UCLA or LB need a pin so Hawaii I guess??
