Is Knigge the first player from a D3 school to start for team USA at this level tournament? No, pretty sure AJ Nally made a few appearances. Possibly Brandon Mueller. But that is throwing it pretty far back. D3 used to put out a decent amount of guys that made it into the USA gym (Springfield and Juniata leading the way on that). But the drop off in level at D3 has been pretty bad since D3 separated from D1/2
