If this was allowed to be a challenged - then every single setter/backrow call should be able to be challenged.
I get it they missed the call - but it was a blatant miss and not them arguing that the attacker was attacking from behind/in front of the line. If they allow the challenge - I don't see how you can't challenge any backrow setter call.
Unless the R1/R2 (like in the NCAA) can say whether or not they were ruling that a player was above the plane or not.

The back to back format is a grind for VNL plus they need bodies for practice I guess you’re right and Anderson is old. I’ve just heard in interviews his first goal is to win these matches and make the finals. If he thinks ensing helps that happen bring him to Paris? Then again dagostino is on the court, so maybe he doesn’t wanna win it's pretty clear Speraw doesn't care about a VNL title. just wants to experiment, and keep players fresh so the results are pretty much expected. there's nothing to be dissapointed about when the goal is simply a unique prep for the Olympics; which is the USA doesn't medal with this approach, I can't imagine USAV would have any reason to keep Speraw as the HC afterwards if this fails.

Also, if there was any time for a green card, it would be right about now.

Also, if there was any time for a green card, it would be right about now. I think Canada was hoping that a technicality could allow them to get the point, I certainly felt like it was a possibility. But it for sure should have been a USA point. Referee incompetence getting rewarded is never a good thing - so justice prevailed regardless.

If USA loses this match, can they still make the Top 8?

isn't shoji injured tho? like something happened to his finger first set iirc and he needed medical attention; you could see that there was some blood on it

I like Dagostino but there's a few plays that he leaves out there that Shoji eats up. I hope he can finish this match strong!

No they need to put a winning product on the court. It’s one thing to develop younger players, but they still need to win to out men’s volleyball more in the headlines in the US

Also while I am a tennis fan, this 'break point' and 'back on serve' is killing me.
