This main man from Adrenaline is wearing me out. Honestly, I don’t want volleyball recruiting to resemble basketball. Let’s not encourage committing after one conversation (or was there actually more than that?).

That being said some girls just know where they want to be.

Let’s not encourage committing after one conversation (or was there actually more than that?). Did you even watch last night’s podcast about 6/15? He in no way was encouraging commitments after one conversation. In fact there was plenty of conversation about how every recruit’s journey will look different and that just because some athletes decide without an official visit, doesn’t mean you have to as well. At about 90 minutes in they made predictions on how many commits there would be on day one. Darren predicted 4 but said he wished it would be 0. Shortly after that he and Amy Pauly agreed that they think a good timeline to commit is after taking a visit but acknowledged that that doesn’t always happen since visits aren’t allowed until August. This is one of my favorite threads of the year. If you’ve got beef with VB Adrenaline, take it to the thread you started about him back in May. It’s on page 1 again.

I’m still trying to understand how coaches can discuss recruiting, show their facilities, and yak it up with a guy who runs a recruiting website. I should not have referred to the owner and operator in a negative manner. He seems like a good enough guy. But you are naive to think this level of exposure for kids who make oral commitments w/o a real visit is not encouraging players to commit early and see their names on social media. Then, they are stuck with that school until they change their mind.

I mean an official visit would be nice but in reality the camp might even be better than an official visit. The rules are what cause this. But to act like these elite talents are blindly picking a school is not the correct answer.
