If the SLT happened right now, this would be the matchups:
#1 SDSU
#4 NDSU vs vs ___________ #5 Denver
#6 ORU vs #3 USD vs #2 Omaha

Not true! They can qualify for the NIVC. I think they will.

The early match today is USD at NDSU at 5:30 CT All the rest are at 7PM CT The Bison's old gym is a tough place to play. If we get by the Bison, the final three matches are a "revenge tour" to St Thomas, Omaha and at home vs SDSU (our three previous losses). Win out, and we would move ahead to a 2-seed and a BYE....

If the Yotes beat Omaha and the two teams finish tied for 2nd place, what is the tiebreaker that gives the Yotes the Number 2 seed? The Summit would compare records against common opponents, from the top down. Assuming we beat the Jacks the 2nd time around, that would be the difference. Really, a lot of things have to go our way for that to happen. The odds are pretty good we end up with the same 1, 2, 3 that we have now. 4 and 5 are basically the same, tournament-wise, and those will almost certainly go to Denver and NDSU in some order. So the biggest question left is who will get that last #6 seed.

Here's the Summit's tie-breaking procedure for 2 teams:

mid-week standings and matches left... # | team | record | Sat | Thur/Sat | Tues |
| 1 | SDSU | 11-1 | NDSU | ORU/@ UND | @ USD |
| 2 | Oma | 10-2 | @ ORU | Denver/ USD | @ KC |
| 3 | USD | 10-3 | - | @ UST/ @ Oma | SDSU | (hard) | . |
| 4 | UST | 7-6 | @ KC | USD/ ORU | - | (easy) | 5 | NDSU | 6-7 | @ SDSU | - / KC | UND | (easy) | 6 | Den | 5-8 | UND | @ Oma/ - | @ ORU | (easy) | 7 | KC | 3-9 | UST | @ UND/ @ NDSU | Oma |
| 8T | UND | 2-10 | @ Den | KC/ SDSU | @ NDSU |
| 8T | ORU | 2-10 | Oma | @ SDSU/ @ UST | Denver | (hard) |
There is a very real possibility the Tommies move into a tie for 3rd if they win out and South Dakota loses out. Even in that scenario, USD will still get the 3-seed though. Looks like ORU will likely be out of running for the tournament (although not eliminated yet). KC or UND will get that last 6-seed.

Week 11 (penultimate) standings and matches left... # | team | record | Thur/Sat | Tues |
| 1 | SDSU | 12-1 | ORU/@ UND | @ USD |
| 2 | Oma | 11-2 | Denver/ USD | @ KC |
| 3 | USD | 10-3 | @ UST/ @ Oma | SDSU | (hard) | . |
| 4 | UST | 8-6 | USD/ ORU | - | (easy) | 5 | NDSU | 6-8 | - / KC | UND | (easy) | 6 | Den | 6-8 | @ Oma/ - | @ ORU | (easy) | . |
| 7 | KC | 3-10 | @ UND/ @ NDSU | Oma |
| 8T | UND | 2-11 | KC/ SDSU | @ NDSU |
| 8T | ORU | 2-11 | @ SDSU/ @ UST | Denver | (hard) |
SDSU, Omaha and USD are all technically in the regular season conference race... but the Jacks are the only ones in control of their own fate. USD can still steal the 2-seed and tournament BYE from Omaha if they win out. St Thomas can still overtake USD for a 3rd-place finish (no tournament seed) by winning out and the Yotes losing out. NDSU and Denver are virtually locked-into the 4 and 5 seeds. KC is trying not to be on the outside looking in to the tournament they will be hosting in a couple of weeks.

I'm getting the match threads I've promised (for Sunday) set up. Will see what I can get made after that... also need to do the Tommies' Saturday finale, of course.

Finally the preseason poll comes out: No matter what happens in the next 2-3 matches, some teams have out-performed, and some... have not.
