kiyoat umm why did Omaha completely ignore Kali today Not sure. They are a team with a lot of options on offense. I was only able to watch the Yotes’s first set tonight and nothing of Mavs. Looks like she had an ace, decent number of digs, but only 8 kills. This is why I wouldn’t advise to take McCormick or Sealock on the Yotes. Too much talent at OH so you’re never guaranteed a single workhorse. Both teams should win a bunch of matches, though. Tried to watch the Yotes and Mavs on replay, but it isn’t available yet. Saw the second set for Tommies. Will have to check again tomorrow.

Reading comments in the thread, and looking at stats, the Tommies need to work on their passing/recieving. I DID see their Libero with some outstanding digs, though.

Jacks took 5 sets to take down the lowly Golden Eagles, so maybe They aren’t ready for the conference top-tier after all….
And my Yotes got it done in Denver in 3 (competive) sets!
Omaha sweeps UND.

Wow, a lot of different non conference results in the usually very competitive Summit League. St. Thomas doing pretty solidly in the transition to D1, South Dakota State and Omaha taking dramatically different scheduling tacks. It looks to be an interesting league to watch, as per usual!

Yotes Mavs Jacks and Roos all won today! Not a single 5-set match among them.

Week 5 results 9/30
Thursday North Dakota ........0 Omaha ........3 North Dakota State 3 St. Thomas ..1 South Dakota State 3 Oral Roberts 2 South Dakota ........3 Denver ........0
Saturday South Dakota .........3 Oral Roberts 0 North Dakota .........1 Kansas City ..3 South Dakota State 3 Denver ........1 St. Thomas ............0 Omaha .......3
So USD and Omaha at the top, and ORU at the bottom all performed about as expected.
SDSU is officially NOT a "paper tiger". They handled the Pios in 4 sets (although they took 5 sets and a reverse-sweep to beat ORU?) - also they are still undefeated on the season!
NDSU and KC showed they are not going to lay down and let their conference-mates pass them by. NDSU had a particular amazing serving day, chalking up 13 aces in four sets.
So I think right now I'd go with:
Top tier: 1 USD 2 Omaha 3 SDSU
Middle tier (in alphabetical order): ?4 Denver ?4 Kansas City ?4 North Dakota ?4 North Dakota State ?4 Saint Thomas
Bottom tier: 9 Oral Roberts
I still think that Denver will rise to the top of that middle group, but time will tell.

SDSU's 6-4 MB Sydni Schetnan just won her second consecutive POW award for the Summit, and also made another list:

Saturday's St Thomas Match: St Thomas vs Kansas City | Sat, Oct 5, 12:00pm CT | SL-netkiyoat - "IIRC, this is the last year for Covid 5th-year players." Mostly true. The 2020 season (played in spring-2021) doesn't count, neither as a year of playing in a sport, nor as a year of eligibility. So a frosh who played in the Covid year -- but then had a redshirt year (medical or just didn't play) -- would still have one year (2025) of play and eligibility remaining. I doubt many athletes played as a freshman in the "2020" covid season, but then did not play in some following year, unless they had a season-ending injury. However, those student-athletes can play in their 6th year of eligibility next fall, if they want, and have a school that wants them.

I just finished watching most of the first three matches on your list. South Dakota State's MB who transferred from Louisville is pretty dominant, and they actually had a big crowd for their match tonight. As of today, my top four are: 1. South Dakota State 2. South Dakota (even after their loss tonight) 3. North Dakota State 4. Omaha
