that's interesting, still wonder how expensive This has an approximate cost in Indy. www.indystar.com/story/sports/2023/06/15/2024-olympic-trials-how-usa-swimming-will-put-a-pool-in-lucas-oil-stadium/70317961007/“The good news is we have experience building temporary pools for the Olympic trials,” Shana Ferguson, chief commercial officer of USA Swimming, said. “We’ve done it already five times, so the last five Olympic Trials were in temporary pools. The reason for that is there’s simply no natatorium in the United States that is big enough to host a meet of this magnitude.” But this endeavor won’t be cheap. Ferguson said the installation of three three-meter deep pools at the stadium will have a hefty cost. The pools and pool decks will be built on top of the existing field, as well, meaning some seats will need to be taken out to accommodate them. “It’s certainly in the seven figures, as you could imagine,” Ferguson said. “It costs a lot to do this right, from a technically-sound build perspective, to a staffing perspective.”

Yeah, it's always frustrating if you have to explain basic concepts like paraphrasing or hyperbole. you don't have to explain paraphrasing unless you clearly are not paraphrasing....but keep back-peddling, lol hyperbole though is a different matter than paraphrasing, but then guess one doesn't know the difference, lol. lol,as well now it's frustrating for you to actually have to to make yourself clear wow!! insult away!!! Bro, stay in your lane. I'm a professional writer and editor. I know the difference between all of those things and how to use them, unlike you. I don't have the time or the patience to explain basic language concepts to someone who either is incapable of understanding or simply chooses not to.

But I guess it doesn't meet the current audience seating requirements for even the Olympic Trials these days, much less the Olympics themselves. Kind of like how venues for the NCAA D1 Volleyball Final Four in 1990 would not even be considered in 2024.

The last five USA swimming trials have been held in temporary pools constructed inside an arena. This is not a new concept nor a prohibitively expensive one. It's just a larger venue. The just-concluded trials at Lucas Oil Stadium were a success, with all-time attendance records being broken multiple times. The L.A. organizing committee now has a blueprint on how to get it done in a converted football-sized venue and plenty of time to work out the details. Swimming at SoFi should be a very cool event.

The L.A. organizing committee now has a blueprint on how to get it done in a converted football-sized venue and plenty of time to work out the details. Swimming at SoFi should be a very cool event. I found this for one of the early proposals with an artist's rendition and everything. They were looking at converting the baseball stadium at USC into a swim stadium, then using the existing swim stadium as a warmup and training site. ballparkdigest.com/2016/07/30/swimming-at-dedeaux-field-thats-the-plan-for-la-2024-olympics/![](https://ballparkdigest.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/usc-olympics.jpg) Given all the past experience and the likelihood that swimming is going to be a hot ticket, I don't see why not build a temporary swimming setup in a large stadium. Of course who knows how they account for it and where the equipment is coming from. I would think they've already talked to USA Swimming about possibly using the setup that they have for the trials. I think it's probably going to be cheaper than converting USC's baseball stadium with enough seating. There was apparently some consternation in Omaha about losing the swim trials. Especially the impact they had on local swimming. www.ketv.com/article/us-olympic-swim-trials-omaha-indianapolis-2024/39572884www.wowt.com/2024/06/21/omahas-swim-community-disappointed-see-olympic-swim-trials-go/

Kind of like how venues for the NCAA D1 Volleyball Final Four in 1990 would not even be considered in 2024. I looked it up and that place seats 2500. kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dnrp/nature-recreation/parks-recreation/king-county-parks/water-recreation/aquatic-center![](https://cdn.kingcounty.gov/-/media/king-county/depts/dnrp/nature-recreation/parks-recreation/water/kcac-header.jpg?rev=a7eae845a6a145c1bfde63b15e53d92d&la=en&h=400&w=1200&hash=605D7B247C792BBAB8A85B8521E9F4E9) There's a pretty nice outdoor competition pool in Santa Clara, California. I used to play an occasional grass game at the park it was in, and I'd walk by the swim stadium. I'm seeing claims that it seats 5000, but I have no idea how they deal with parking for an expected crowd of 5000. I doubt they really need to worry about it. It is closed now because of some serious issues with the infrastructure, where the city may not want to pay for it. www.santaclaraca.gov/home/components/servicedirectory/servicedirectory/380/2654www.gomotionapp.com/team/pcscsc/page/facilityhistory![](https://www.gomotionapp.com/pcscsc/UserFiles/Image/HC.jpg) As far as temporary setups go - that's pretty normal now for big events like this. Apparently in Paris they're using an indoor stadium that generally seats about 40,000 for rugby. What I've seen is that for swimming it will be about 16,000. The ticket prices are on pages 76-77 and range from 24 to 980 Euros for 17 different sessions. Even the nosebleeds are 125 Euros for the prime sessions. tickets.paris2024.org/obj/media/FR-Paris2024/ticket-prices.pdfBut Paris La Defense Arena (really more an indoor stadium) is being used for swimming and water polo even though there's another water facility used for water polo and synchronized swimming. This is what it looks like with rugby: ![](https://www.parisladefense-arena.com/uploads/2020/02/sans-titre-12-1536x800.jpg) And the outside: ![](https://media.parisladefense.com/4ScK8BGGzgLmidLFjUCmx7intrs=/1160x450/poi/tours/paris-la-defense-arena/paris-la-defense-arena-2019-2-c-pld-philippe-guignard.jpg) Here are some photos from Getty Images of the press visit. Doesn't quite look like the public seating chart, which is a U. Seems that one sideline will have temporary seats, probably only available to the participants and VIPs. www.gettyimages.com/editorial-images/news/event/press-visit-to-paris-la-defense-arena/776157074?editorialproducts=all

I heard they will open Verdugo Hills again for olympic golf Men and women both playing Riviera. Found where they had the old update with venues. I think the report was from 2017. stillmed.olympics.com/media/Document%20Library/OlympicOrg/Games/Summer-Games/2028-Los-Angeles/IOC-2028-Evaluation-Commission-report.pdfIt definitly lists Rivera Country Club. But it's so old that it says "LA Stadium at Hollywood Park" as a planned facility, and as a place for one of the opening or closing ceremonies (along with the LA Coliseum) as well as archery. That plan has swimming at Dedeaux Field at USC, which looks like the temporary setup at the baseball stadium. But if they can think outside the box (like outside of Southern California) - then why not think really big? Why not Cypress Point if the membership would agree? That would be something.
