Curious how the first Tesla model S was made in 2012 when George W. Bush was president. But somehow this is "Another Biden disaster". ![](https://i.imgur.com/3APwL7n.jpg)

In your world Ford is the only car company on the planet, and we can go with that, sure, for sh!tz and giggles, why not. "Ford CEO Jim Farley has said that Ford's electric vehicle (EV) losses will turn into profits in a couple of years when the company releases its second generation of EVs. In the first quarter of 2024, Ford's EV segment lost $1.3 billion, which is more than double the deficit from the previous year. Farley has said that the losses are due in part to large discounts the company has been offering, and that Ford is making changes to its EV business. He has also said that Ford won't invest in the future of EVs unless it's convinced it will be profitable." As long as the company is profitable, they're more than willing to take certain losses. This is pretty standard in businesses where they'll take losses in developing technolgies. And in this case the ability to bring up the Corporate Average Fuel Economy is important. You can compare the rated fuel economy. ![](https://www.lightningowners.com/attachments/275986414_4961308187224915_2482904571572600272_n-jpg.1713/) ![](https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/attachments/screenshot-18-jpg.2808/)

Do you have a weird fetish about being fact-checked after making idiotic posts, HOLIDUMB? I'm wondering about this whole thing of letting the market decide when there's just been so much spent on trying to affect the price of oil. If the market decides that gasoline should be $10 a gallon, why should there be any attempts by government to bring the price down? Obviously the market should decide for that which one doesn't agree with, but there should be price controls for that which one does agree with.

Ford motors nearly went broke, trying to keep up with your idiotic mandates. As usual stupid dumb decisions when you should’ve let the market decide all along if they wanted electric cars or not. Instead you tried to shove it down peoples throats and when it didn’t work out, you start making excuses like a moron. Democrats are truly idiots. Dumb as a box of rocks. Remember 2008, when the Big Three successfully got EV mandates rolled back, and we were swimming in huge SUVs? Remember how we bailed them out to the tune of some $80.3 billion to keep them out of bankruptcy? That was because the Republicans allowed "the market to decide" that everyone wanted a huge, high profit margin SUV. Are you going to own that one?

It's mostly full-size pickup trucks, although part of that is that there's a tax deduction for bonafide work vehicles. But as family vehicles, the most popular are compact SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and sedans/coupes. www.motor1.com/features/703891/best-selling-cars-2023/Best Selling Cars 2023 Ford F-Series: 750,789 Units Chevrolet Silverado: 555,148 Units Ram Pickup: 444,926 Units Toyota RAV4: 434,943 Units Tesla Model Y: 403,897 Units (est.)
