Just looked over some video from St. John's vs. Seton Hall last weekend. Her last match (Georgetown) wasn't listed on the replays for ESPN for some reason. Anyway, Jones was the primary for for about 1-3 rotations per set, or not at all. She's not in a double sub. She's not even setting for three consecutive rotations in the backrow sometimes. I don't see a rhyme or reason to it, to be honest. She is also not shy about taking the second ball on OOS plays. 

She definitely qualifies as a pin from our definitions, although the definition isn't explicit about back row play. She definitely doesn't qualify as a setter from the definition, as Kowalczyk is setting in a 5-1 the vast majority of the time. 

PIN- A player who attacks the ball in either zones 2 of 4 during a majority of their front row rotations. A player who takes the second ball during a majority of their front row rotations is not considered an PIN (i.e. a setter in a 5-1 system who also attacks the ball in zone 2/3 is not considered an PIN)

Really odd case, tbh, because she is definitely used as the primary setter for a rotation or two. But yeah, I'm going to say she can be used as a pin given the definitions laid out in the rules.

St. John's and most of the Big East is mostly on FLOsports.

Sometimes St. John's matches are on ESPN3, it's a weird thing.

I debated going with all pins instead of my army of setters just to mix it up, but ended up going 4 setters. Can’t decide if I regret my decision knowing my opponents both went pin heavy 🤔
