I built my roster to win assists and kills in even setter matchups and have had like two such matchups out of 24. LMAO.
The expanded roster gives teams so much flexibility to pivot between lineups.

I think that’s why I struggled early. then pivoted a little too harshly in a different direction, and was left with a jumbled mess lol

I built my roster to play two liberos every week and compete hard in digs. I abandoned that strategy, and now I'm back on it.

Blah. I like my matchup with vup - but not with you. I thought you weren't going to play 4S. Mia had tougher matches - and even though Izzi is back in a 5-1 and K-State is playing better, I wasn't convinced you would do it or go all 4. This is an example of a time I could lose kills and assists. Even with one extra attacker, my players this week certainly aren't my strongest in kills. Your attackers are strong in kills. My setters are pretty offensive though - so they might be able to make up for any deficiency there.

I honestly have no idea how some of y'all* (aka Kingsley) are averaging over 4.00 aces per set a week.

Hmmm interesting. Not the lineup I was expecting from either of my opponents 🤔 Me either. Do-over?

Also, I lost aces more times this year than I win them, despite being in the upper half of the league in ace average per week. That's annoying.

I honestly have no idea how some of y'all are averaging over 4.00 aces per set a week. It's just the nature of the game.... sometimes players will significantly increase their ace average year over year (see Bridgette Smith), sometimes players will significantly regress their ace average year over year (see Savannah Seemans or Mia Tuaninga from 2022 to 2023). It just is what it is. As the league continues to understand how to win at Fantasy (as I believe most of us are), weekly outcomes are becoming far more happenstance than anything actively strategic or prophetic.

My setters are pretty offensive though - so they might be able to make up for any deficiency there. You played 4S against me last time, and I thought I needed to compete on assists to have a chance. My kills, aces, and digs are all over the place week-to-week but assists are reliable.

Wait, I get the top two teams in the league next week? who built this schedule? lmao for some reason, I think Kingsley and I were like "travel partners" for some reason. I think it happened even more last year. I imagine it's kind of hard to find a truly random double round-robin generator with 2x matches per week, but maybe AI can come up with something next year This is where some of that happenstance and randomness of fantasy in any given year kicks in. Just based on the full rosters, someone could guarantee at least one category each week against Kingsley by playing 3 setters, but since they are matched with you, who can go setter heavy, they risk losing that category if they only play 3 while exposing themselves to also possibly lose kills given overall player performance, which is why I think you saw a number of players only playing 2 setters against Kingsley, thus gambling on that category. Whereas if Kingsley was "travel partners" with, say, Eazy, who doesn't have many setters, that's a different ball game for opponent.
