Chiaka is like the worst server ever I would agree, except I watched Carter Booth a couple weeks ago…

Karch: hope he has retirement options I really thought Lauren would look better with the team with more practice. I’m going to choose to be blissfully ignorant and hope that she’ll build better connections with the hitters by the Olympics.

I think the Kelsey being bad didn't help and whatever they were trying to do with those slides was tragic.

the serving is the worst i've seen from a USA team the 'offense' is just make the easiest set in the moment there is no defense these women have no confidence whatsoever
pain.

I get that their surrounding casts are all different, but it’s like they go from top-paid, solid pro players back to being (injured) NCAA freshmen in the KK gym these days.

From match one
Avery - the only reliable offensive outlet. Killed with variety. On poor sets, she would adjust and not lose the point outright. Similar to VNL, her passing was spotty. I'm guessing around 1.8. Kelsey - passed well as always. She was blocked a million times Sets 1 thru 3. The rest of the times she would two hand tip. Didn't seem ready for fast tempo particularly OOS. Sets 4 to 5 finally settled into getting high hand kills and hitting edge of block. Chiaka - very inconsistent slide. They really need to give up on her slide. She's never had a consistent slide on the NT or in pro. It's too late at this point. Got kills on simple 1's hitting angle. Blocked well when Netherlands was OOS. Donna - solid. Had some decent slides. Setting to her was a bit iffy. Drews - okay. Didn't get a good rhythm with Carlini so not a ton of heat. Looked a bit better in Set 2. JT - good. seemed better than VNL. Didn't suffer from the same spacing issues. Maybe the sets were a bit slower compared to VNL. JWO - solid. I think she passed well but I can't remember her touching a ton of serves. I only recall her covering for Avery late in Set 5. Hopefully in real matches they plan on Justine pouching more. Carlini - spotty. Seemed to have some inconsistencies with the tempo.
