Anybody there? How's the crowd looking? I'll enjoy following scores from afar.

Saw video of the Marquette match. Larchied wasn't there? Merz didn't play? Just wondering what's up with that. Also saw the end of the Westosha match--delayed call on the ball that was down, but seemed to be the right call. Coach should have been carded for how bad he was yelling at the refs for 2 points about the call.

From what I heard the 4pm match was very lightly attended. Not sure about 7pm. Larchied hurt his foot/ankle again in the sectional final vs Brookfield East.
Even saw a reporter on twitter who mentioned how low the crowd was during the 4pm session.

Bummer about Max-hope he can play sometime this week. Attendance was expected to be light--while some matches went 4, there were no expected upsets. Tomorrow should be more competitive and hopefully better attended.

Merz is out for the year, and doubtful Larcheid will play. Even if Larcheid could play he would be extremely limited. It’s too bad because they would have had a shot if they were healthy. They just don’t have enough to push Middleton. Gtown and and Hamilton should be a really good match

Watching the Hamilton-Germantown match and the level of volleyball is just awesome. Big swings and blocks on both sides, passing and defensive plays, very high caliber of play all around. The thing that overshadowed the match for me though was the culture represented by Germantown. The obnoxious cheers, whining to the officials, and finally getting a card for their behavior when it should have happened much earlier in the match. I really hope someone from that community reads this and knows that the rest of the state thinks your program has coaches that develop good volleyball players, but not good people. The talent is respected, but the attitude and behavior is an embarrassment.
But every good story needs a villain, right?

18 service errors by Germantown was the difference apparently

A hard way to end senior year for a couple of talented players (Max & Liam).

This year is a perfect example of "geographic representation". For boys the finalists are from the same (GMC) conference, and 3/4 of the teams in the semis were in the same conference. For D1 girls you have 3/4 teams also from the same (GMC) conference, and the other team is from SE Wisconsin as well. Good for the GMC, bad for the WIAA.

It was great volleyball, but watching the Germantown coach run up and down the sidelines made me wonder if he was an adult or another high schooler.

I attended both games and don't recall any obnoxious cheers. Yes, there were some complaints to the officials, but I've never been to a sporting event where that didn't happen. I'm a proud Gtown vball dad who has three sons who have played in the program that are highly successful on and off the court and has seen nothing but class from the programs players and coaches. No program is perfect. Emotions and spirits sometimes run high, but to sit back and slander another program isn't called for either. I have witnessed plenty of other programs, coaches and fans with suspect behavior but I guess that's ok.

Any predictions for tonight? I'll go Middleton in 5.
But the bigger question is, if somebody wins a State title but nobody is there to see it, did anyone win a State title?

Has anyone else heard that there are 2 players on the 1st Team all-conference for Woodland Conference from Greendale High School?

As someone who had a son that played against Germantown from 2020-2022, the matches were always fun intense. I have never noticed the kids from Germantown being obnoxious. They are loud and boisterous, but never disrespectful. Coach Rushmer and his staff coach their boys to be aggressive and play hard, but never over the line. In fact if the assistant coaches or players were doing something that Rushmer thought was over the top he would put an end to it. Some teams are intimidated by their actions, but it was never meant to be in a way disrespected the game. Maybe actions can be misinterpreted, but it is nothing that I had witnessed from the multiple conference matches or tournament games that were played against them. Just one persons opinion. I always felt a little spice in the matches were good as long as they didn’t cross the line

One last thought, I think Sussex wins in 4, but I have been wrong before
