Not a bad opening weekend for the Blue Hens. Opening their season against what looks like a much improved Michigan team was definitely good imo. Unfortunately dropping the first game of the season in 5, let's not talk about that fifth set lol. I'll admit Rogers looked much better than I remember from last year. While we struggled with terminating at times there were definitely sparks where we really lit up. Thanks to Seemans and Nguyen our defense and passing were solid. Our blocking looked great as well thanks to Rogers, Johnson and Whitfield-Moss. In terms of stats Seemans led the Hens with 17 kills and 21 digs. Johnson and Rogers both had 6 blocks with Johnson also adding 12 kills. Whitfield-Moss also added 5 more blocks for the Hens. It seems Gillens has stepped into Mason's shoes, in a sense, being the second OH for us. Tallying 15 kills against the wolverines. Nguyen wore the bro jersey and tallied 24 digs and 5 assists. Against Kent State we were able to pull it out in sweeping fashion . The Blue Hens hit .232 as a team while holding the Golden Flashes to just a .01 hitting percentage. Seemans led in kills again with 8 while also adding 2 service aces, 2 blocks and 11 digs. Johnson led the way in blocks with 4 while also matching Seemans with 8 kills and adding 1 service ace. Wright led the way with 12 digs for the Blue Hens. Overall not a bad debut for the '24 season, the team seems solid and showed their willingness to fight. Next week we head to Iowa City to face another B1G team. The Hawkeyes are hosting their Hawkeye invite where we'll play Cal Baptist, Iowa and San Jose State. I look forward to the improvements we make from now until then! Best of luck to all at the upcoming Hawkeye invite and remember, Go Blue Hens!!

I know it’s not the easiest thing in the world to do well, but if you ended up making match threads for all of Delaware’s matches I would laugh so hard. I’ll never forget Delaware are the Fighting Blue Hens thanks to you. I mean, I knew before you made your thread, but I keep forgetting. No longer.

Tough weekend for the Blue Hens.
While we opened the weekend with a sweep against Cal Baptist, we ended the weekend getting swept by San Jose State. The highlight of the weekend was the match against Iowa which we unfortunately lost in a back and forth 5 setter. Let's hope the Blue Hens get all the kinks ironed out before the start of conference in 2 weeks.

Great UNDEFEATED weekend at our own tournament! Even if Howard nearly pulled it out from under us, it was great to see the fight from both teams but ultimately the FIGHTIN' blue hens came out on top. Great way to end the regular season. Hopefully we ride this momentum into conference and sweep Campbell in dominating fashion week 1.
I can't believe it's already conference. I guess time does fly when you're having fun!

I was convinced we were going to lose to Howard in another reverse sweep. Maybe the youngsters are starting to figure it out!

Game RecapGreat opening weekend for the Blue Hens!! Officially 2-0 in conference with back to back sweeps at Campbell! The camels had no answer for Anna Logan. Once she gets her passing and back court defense figured out she's going to be a phenomenal 6ro OH for us. I have the utmost faith that Lambert and staff can get her there by next year. Next week will be our biggest test of the CAA regular season. Back to back matches against Towson. We're going to need more production from Seemans and Hughes to beat the tigers. Here's hoping we repeat the same outcome as last year's conference tournament match!

She has done a fantastic job with the Delaware program and really is a great trainer. Fun to watch!

Back to back victories move the Hens to 5-1 in conference. The Hens are currently in a 4 way tie for 1st in the CAA with Towson, Charleston and Hofstra. Rogers leads the conference in A/S and Seemans leads the conference in SA/S.
Over the weekend GWM lead the Hens in both offense and defense tallying 12 kills and 5 blocks each game. Seemans finished the weekend with 32 digs, 6 aces and a double double the second night.
Next week we face William & Mary in Williamsburg. Go Hens!
