That is a big limb you’re going out on. I think out of anyone on this roster, Robinson is most likely to make the roster in 2028. Curious to see how the next 4 years pan out or maybe a small limb that is likely to snap! People love vert... but the truth is that vertical touch is only a part of what makes a world class player and there are lots of high vertical player than never get there and lots of world class players that don't touch that high but get it done other ways. I think there are 20+ guys that are in the running for the 5-6 pin roster spots in 2028 and Flexen is bottom half for me but it is early. He has looked decent yesterday and today (much better than his average UCI performances) and the fact that he was in the starting lineups both days means something. The bigger issue with Flexen imo is his passing and defense. He seriously needs to improve if he wants any shot at having a good career/making the senior team

Going into the '24 season I think most folks thought Rama was ahead of Robinson on the depth chart.

Robinson kinda took us by surprise when he passed Knight on the depth chart, but he clearly put in lots of work over the summer. I would say going into the ‘25 season, the battle for that second OH will be between Rama and Kelly, as Robinson is a lock in my opinion

Going into the '24 season I think most folks thought Rama was ahead of Robinson on the depth chart. I wasn't in the gym to know depth chart in practices but Rama got used more in 2023 than Robinson during matches. Knight and Champlin played the majority of the season and Rama was first off the bench with Robinson used sparingly, I am not sure if he was 100% healthy or just developing. In 2024 I recall hearing Knight was having shoulder issues, combined with the teams libero issues Knight and Champlin juggled the libero spot with the projected true liberos and Robinson was a more consistent starter and Rama was off the bench about the same as he was in 2023. I also recall hearing Speraw say in an interview in 2023 that Robinson was the best pin blocker on the team and maybe one of the best he has ever coached. knowing how much UCLA values blocking, I assume the coaching staff was eager to develop him into a starter and it worked out well in 2024. The pair of Champlin and Robinson were the best OH unit in the NCAA. Can't wait to see what happens next year.

I think Kelly will work his way onto the floor by January and Rama will be off the bench again or Curci if more ball control is needed and Clini a dark horse. Who and how good the libero ends up being will be a factor affecting the OHs.

With Sloane graduating, assuming Kelly is ready to start on day one, I wouldn't be surprised if Rama moved to Opposite, to challenge Ido David. Even if Kelly isn't ready, UCLA still has plenty of OH depth with Curci and Clini.
