Davis vs LB should be a fun match.... both will be out to redeem themselves. Must win for LBSU but not so much for Davis; however, I agree that both teams will be fighting for this win. Important for both teams in different ways.

Big Mess weekend.
UCSD upset UCD 3-2, then beat UCR 3-0 LB loses to UCR 2-3, then beats UCD 3-2 UCD loses both matches 2-3 to UCSD and LB UCI gets two 3-1 wins over CSUB and CSUN HI beats UCSB 3-0, and plays Cal Poly tonight.
Close standings for the top 6: UC Davis 9-3 Cal Poly 8-3 Hawai'i 8-3 UC Irvine 8-4 UC San Diego 8-4 Long Beach State 7-5
Winner of Cal Poly and Hawaii tonight will move into tie for 1st place. the other will drop to a tie for 3rd with UCI and UCSD.

A few minor corrections.
UCI def. both Bake and CSUN 3-1.
UCI and UCSD will be in a tie for 3rd not 2nd.
UCSB at 6-6 should be listed below Long Beach St. because they are still in the race for the Big West Tournament probably having the easiest remaining schedule among the 7 teams. Plus they hold the tie-breaker over Da Beach say for example if both teams finish 11-7.

Good observations. I mean to put 3-1s for UCI. I chose not list UCSB, but would have if they were in the top 6.

ucsb still in this ...
uc davis looked like they were gonna widen the gap between them and the rest of the field, but the peloton has caught them and foiled their break-away hopes ... for now ...
great to see teams like csun and uc riverside threatening to play spoiler ... taking teams in the top half of the standings to 5 sets or even pulling off an upset ... they may yet have an impact on how the bw standings/seedings play out ...
who will get hot come bw tourney time ... uc irvine will be glad to have the home court advantage ...

Another big match for my LBSU team playing UCI at their place. UCI won at the mid so this is a very big road match for the beach.
It looks to be a high probability that either UCI or LBSU will be the last team in for the conference tournament. UCI has the most difficult remaining schedule so if LBSU beats UCI this weekend they will have the upper hand going forward. Not sure if I should be rooting for UCI over UCSD on Friday but that is the way I am leaning now.
I am worried about UCSB jumping LBSU since they have a rather easy schedule going forward and have the tie breaker vs LBSU since they beat them at their place and there is not a return trip this season.
Half the conference is bunched up so it will be a rather interesting close to the regular season this year.

4 teams tied for #1 with 10-4 records. If we're doing a tie-breaker right now, should the seeding be like this?
1. Hawaii - win Cal Poly 2-0 - win UC San Diego 1-0 - split w/ UC Davis 1-1
- record over tied teams 4-1
2. UC Davis - win Cal Poly 1-0
- split w/ Hawaii 1-1
- split w/ UC San Diego 1-1 - record over tied teams 3-2
3. UC San Diego - win Cal Poly 1-0
- split w/ UC Davis 1-1
- loss Hawaii 0-1 - record over tied teams 2-2
4. Cal Poly - loss Hawaii 0-2 - loss UC San Diego 0-1 - loss UC Davis 0-1 - record over tied teams 0-4

Poly/SB have the easiest schedule.
play Irvine/Full & Davis/Riverside
albeit the Beach and Hawaii losing to Riverside, beating Davis weeks make that real interesting
Irvine, at least for now has the biggest hurdle. They play Poly/SB & then Full/Hawaii, in their bid to just play on their hosting court
the Irvine-Beach match was a bit of a play-in match yesterday
