Wow, great match from a spectator point of view. Usually I am half asleep by now.

Cook had planned to give Griffin the start yesterday against TT for about a month. After the game yesterday, he said he'd watch the video of the TT match before deciding who would start today. It seems like he just wants to keep her fresh and ready to go. He commented that there was little difference between the two setters. He said Maggie is very experienced, but Rachel can do some more athletic things.

Funny! They have these guys running around in a bubble around the court. Must be a race or something.

There are some coaches that absolutely cannot evaluate athletes in this way. Good for him for knowing they both can add to the team. I know that quicker, more athletic setters can add so much to a team's tempo and rythm, even if her hands are 'rougher'. I hear so much about how bad a team's passing is, but when I watch the video, it's only that the setter is so slow to the ball that the pass seems much worse than it actually is. It appears that the "drug" Creighton took before the game is finally wearing off. Whew!
That and the fact NU"s block has finally showed up. 12-3 NU Creighton TO

Of course the broadcasters wouldn't know this, but starting Maggie was not an experiment. It was in fact planned. Griffin back in the match as I speak, er write.
