In the years where the Big Ten has sent 8 to the NCAAs, anyone know what the in-conference records and overall records were of those that qualified? i believe it was '98, '99, and '02.

In '02, there were three teams at 10-10: Indiana, Michigan, and Northwestern. So that made eight teams, including PSU, Minn, Wis, OSU, and MSU.
IU's overall record was 20-11, and if I remember correctly, Michigan's was 17-15, and NW's was 16-14. But that's just from memory.

In 98 and 99 I'm pretty sure that all of the Big 10 teams won their first round matches. I know in 1999 that Michigan was the 8th place team and they took Pacific to a 5th game losing like 18-16. The Wolverines were the only team to take a game off of Pacific in the tournament that year until they lost in 5 games to Penn State in the national semifinals. I'm not sure about 2002, though I believe the majority of the teams (if not all) won their first round matches.

I believe there has been only one Big 10 team (since Penn State joined the conference) that has obtained at least a 10-10 confernce record that has not made it into the NCAA tournament. That team was Minnesota in 1994 where the committee selected Michigan State (9-11, 17-15) over Minnesota (10-10, 21-15) as the 6th Big 10 team in the tournament.
