Chin up bearwatch. Baylor VB is going to be very fun to watch (and post about) for years to come. I agree. Baylor is really good for such a young team. I expect a lot from them in the future.

OK, I surrender. No more yelling, chanting, banging the BU drum. We looked unbelievable in game 1 in every aspect of the game. Then....... nothing....... everyone went into the toilet....... everyone played terrible......... We stunk............... nothing.............. Hey!! You can't do that. Baylor needs you!! You can't give up on your team like that!! Maybe not be so arrogant about them... but don't give up!!!

I've seen plenty of enthusiastic supporters of up and coming teams; I was one of them back in 2002. However - I have yet to see one so over the top or willing to say outrageous things. Be humble. Enjoy your team. Don't piss people off. You'll be able to say you saw them through tough times when all the other fans jump on the bandwagon.

C'mon, bearwatch.
Don't worry about this loss too much. TAMU is the Jekyll/Hyde of the Big12, even more so than Texas if you can believe it. Every year they can stink it up against terrible teams one week and then turn around and dominate some of the conference leaders the next week.
And now that your ego is deflated, maybe it's finally safe to tell you that your team showed good potential in the tape of their match against the Longhorns in Austin. I think you'll have plenty to crow about in the next four years. A national title? Unlikely. But a stronger conference finish and advancement to the 2nd round of postseason? Could be.
I think everyone here picks on you for the same reason hazing exists anywhere... you remind us of our own idealistic days before we watched our own programs go through up and down cycles over a decade or two. You are young, and heartache loss to heartache loss you stand. You'll learn to accept your team for what it is and make no promises, no demands. Your belief in Baylor was strong, no one on VolleyTalk could tell you you're wrong. But after this loss you've been searching your heart for so long, now you know: volleyball is a battlefield.

I have soft spot in my heart for Baylor as well. The character and class displayed in that program is equal to none. Maybe they can rebound and we can take Bearwatch off suicide watch. A team with such character and leadership is bound to bounce back with a big win soon. I look at Oklahoma as an example of that. They keep winning game 5's and look tournament bound after an aweful 2005 season. Good times are ahead in Waco!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Even you BearClause. Someone told me your not as good as you think you are after a big win and your not as bad as you think you are after a big loss. Hope that is true in this case. BTW, I know I agitate some of you at times. Really, I mainly do it just to get you talking about Baylor. Sometimes, I just like doing it for no good reason. The board brings out a darker side I think. OK, onward and forward.

One win over a Nebraska or a Texas won't do it for Baylor. They have defeated no one of significance this year. They will need to defeat Nebraska, Texas and perhaps Missouri and finish above .500 in the Big 12 to get into the tournament.

If noone talks about Baylor, they go overlooked. The board does bring out competitive juices, too... makes it entertaining. Go Bears... a little.
