MSU's Schatzle had 24 kills & 3 errors on 42 swings for .476. Wow. Nice Game.

I was at the game and haven't looked at the stats yet, but I was really impressed with Schatzle, I thought she was the best player on the floor. Not only was she good offensively, but they scored a ton of points off her serve, especially when they were down 3 or 4 in game three, it was her service run that got them back in the game.
The difference in this game was that they got the middles involved and the block was there. They were getting a lot of touches on balls. Jessica Hohl had a really nice match, her slide was really effective and was getting a lot of sets. She is a quick hitter. Most of Katie Johnson's errors were from back row attacks, she had a good game though. Allison Ianni had a lot of kills too. Emily Fahrer was the DS who subbed in for KJ in the back row. She is new to the lineup and she will improve, but she missed a few digs that she could have gotten.
Funniest play of the night: MSU got a service ace when the ball hit Kerry Hance's hair before it went out.
Are liberos allowed to attack with a swing in the air behind the ten foot line? I thought they weren't.

Looks like Hohl only got 5 kills, it seemed like a lot more. Maybe she got them at key times. Or I am delusional.

Liberos CAN attack as long as part of the ball is at or below net height. Same as the rules for judging backrow attackers in front of the 10' line.
However, Michigan's libero is TINY. I can't imagine her ever getting called for an illegal libero attack, and if she did, it would probably make her day!

I'm happy to see the MSU setter doing so well after having a miserable time at Pacific. Too bad for the Tigers that she didn't stick around for the coaching change - she could have really made a difference there.
