Why doesn't Cal have it?

Same thing for the Gophers.
I didn't make it to the match tonight so I had to pay for the audio package to get updates on the match.
I haven't found any information on the USC vs. Cal match yet either - Not updated on the Rich Kern scores, not updated on either team's site, no GameTracker.
I've been wondering if it was perhaps moved to Sunday for some reason.

My guess is that the arena doesn't have internet connectivity yet.

far as I know the home team provides the gametracker.
I have not been aware that any visiting team does their own..
Even last year in the old gym USC never had gametracker available as I recall. One has to buy some type of coverage.

Well the thing is that USC doesnt pay that much attention to volleyball, dispite their success at it. Noone talks about it at all in scout.com

The Gophers have done audio broadcasts on away trips using a simple dialup connection.
Plus, those two teams are in pretty hi tech areas so a cellular data card would give up to 2 Mb data connection.
It doesn't take that much to do an audio broadcast and I'd think even less to do livestats.

GameTracker has to be patched into "The Automated Scorebook" software program at the competition site, and hooked up to the internet. Cal has been running GameTracker for the past three seasons. I remember following the progress of Cal at USC in 2004 on GameTracker. I'm not sure why USC doesn't have it available now.
None of this season's USC home matches are on GameTracker, including the ones at the Lyon Center. However - all their archived GameTracker stats from previous seasons are still available.

USC in four. 20-30, 30-22, 30-26, 32-30. Very good match. Cal had the advantage in blocks, digs, and maybe hitting, but not in the final score.

The Galen Center is beautiful. The crowd was pretty decent, larger than a typical vball crowd, so hopefully higher attendance at Galen Center than at the Lyn Center.
The arena was darkened for the introduction of USC starters, with spotlights and loud music -- similar to NBA introductions. The giant jumbo screens are fabulous, showing the game on the floor and slow motion replays.
About the game itself. USC was not playing like a home team. To me, they looked uncomfortable and tentative, and I think part of that was dealing with the new arena -- a larger sense of space, basketball flooring (vball flooring wasn't ready to be laid yet) and the whole hoopla about the opening of the Galen Center. I think the team would be okay playing at the Galen Center later in the season.
Game 1 was all Cal as USC struggled with its passing and offense. With bad passing, Carico was running all over the floor and setting a predicatable high outside offense. Gysin struggled with her hitting again today. Her jump approach did not look as dynamic as it was earlier in the season. Maybe, the season is starting to wear down on her -- remember that she has not played competitive vball since summer 2004 -- and I'm sure with her knees, her conditioning is not 100% level.
After game 1, USC offense became more physical and early point runs on blockings, backcourt defense as well as "Asia Kaczor show" allowed USC to lead most of the remaining games. With Copenhagen and Gysin struggling to put the balls down, Carico had to go to Kaczor point after point, and she delivered. Plus it helped that Carico delivered several "310" slams that made Cal's blockings honest and allowing several one-on-one or no blocking for Johansen. Tennant played the MB2 and she played pretty well.
Haley used 6-2 sub for a few points in the match to pull out Carico and talk with her (Bishop would come in to play the middle and Johansen shifted to the right).
Next week's match against UCLA will be at the Lyon Center as the Galen Center is being prepped for the Opening Gala Concert on Saturday. Hopefully the more familiar surrounding will help the Women of Troy put up a good fight against the Bruins.

Thanks for the scores. I'm curious about the box score. I'm wondering if Hana played tonight, or if it was Cat Dailey. I guess there's always next year.

Hana played and had a lot of kills, but I don't know about hitting percentage.
Maybe we just need to wait until the home matches...

I think Cutura was struggling a bit with the Carter's setting. She hit the antenna on a number of occasions, maybe about 5 times.
