Schatzle averaged 6.5 kills per game and hit .423 on the week to help lead the Spartans to a pair of wins over Michigan and Iowa. The MSU junior helped the Green and White to its first win against Michigan since the 2004 campaign, and first sweep over the Wolverines since the 1999 season. She served eight-straight points in the third game versus Michigan to spark a Spartan comeback. Schatzle, along with teammate Katie Johnson, led MSU with 15 kills on 29 attempts (.345) in Saturday's contest against Iowa that gave Michigan State its 13th win of the season. The victory already boosted MSU one win past its total from last year, while evening its 2006 conference record to 4-4.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nobilio, the Big Ten's leader in conference digs, turned in another impressive effort over the weekend by not committing a single reception error in 32 attempts, which extends her streak of reception error-less matches to four (93 total chances). Against undefeated No. 2 Penn State, Nobilio's 16 digs helped hold PSU to a .213 hitting percentage after the Nittany Lions came into the match leading the nation with a .343 percentage. The Wildcat freshman then picked up a match-best 25 digs in an upset of No. 16 Ohio State. She had three digs in the crucial fifth game, helping pass the Wildcats to an amazing .625 hitting percentage (10-0-16) as a team.
