July 24, 2006 Los Angeles, CA - Over three decades of Loyola Marymount University athletics will be part of the 2007 LMU Athletics' Hall of Fame inductees, as the class of 2007 was announced by LMU Athletics Director Dr. William Husak. Five individuals and one team will be in the latest group inducted into the Hall of Fame, which began in 1986. The Class of 2007 will include the 1986 Baseball Team, Bob Kerslake (baseball, '58), Kim Blankinship (women's volleyball, '97), Jeff Fryer (men's basketball, '90), Tracy Sharp (women's soccer, '01 MBA '04) and Sarah McFarland (women's volleyball, '01). Hall of Fame weekend will be held in January of 2007 and will include the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. Information on the weekend's festivities will be released in early fall. The five individuals will give the Hall of Fame 99 individual members and the baseball team will be the fourth team inducted, joining 1981 Women's Crew, the 1969 Football Team and the 1990 Men's Basketball Team The accomplishments of the 2007 Inductees are numerous. Whenever someone so young passes away of "old age" type causes, I always think there's foul play. I'm not saying something like heart failure does not occur in the young but it is rare (or it appears to be rare, let's put it that way).
