Purdue had really been in control until that one stretch, and that makes it all close again

A tip off the block for Smale Lynch with a slide to break the streak 29 - 28 Smale with a kill - ugh, that was bad* 29 - 29 Johnson hits wide 30 - 29 Smale kill 30 - 30 Merlau with a crunch 31- 30 Gurnell/Jacques block for game point
*It looked like it would be a free ball and Purdue all backed away and Smale just dropped it onto the open court
Purdue up 2 - 0
As I said, they pretty much controlled the game outside of that one run. Unfortunately, that run counts

Side out score in game 2 was 13 - 12
For the game, Jacques had 5 kills, Merlau had 8. Overall, Jacques has 11, Merlau has 10
Purdue outblocking them 7 - 1, and that 1 block by Iowa was on a freeball at the net more or less
Purdue has been running 1 set of rotations in a 5-1, freeing up some subs, and they have been using Emily Williams in the front row in place of Dildine on occasion

So game three was pretty dominating
Purdue outhit Iowa .333 to - .081 Outblocked them 5 - 3 Outdug something like 19 - 15
Only three errors for Purdue, 10 for Iowa.
Pretty much a crunch.
Overall, Purdue hits .320, Iowa .181 Blocks were 12 - 4 Digs 58 - 46
Miller was all over the floor, with 25 digs. Not bad for 3 games.
Again, there was one very bad stretch in Game 2, but other than that, a more or less controlling match by the Boilers. They did well.

For the match, Merlau had 15 kills, Jacques with 12, Mader with 10 for Purdue. Jacques also had 6 blocks, and Merlau had 5.
Fister had 14 kills for Iowa, but 11 errors. Vitali always plays well up here (to show up her sister!), and had 10 kills, hitting .500.
As I said, Miller with 25 digs, after having 14 on Wed. Is 39 digs in 6 games good enough for another defensive POW, even if they come against Indiana and Iowa?
