Hope they enjoyed their stay in the top 25. They lost to GaTech tonight, 23-30, 30-27, 15-30, 30-28, 24-22.

They should still win the ACC, though. Is it going to be a one bid conference this year? FSU didn't help themselves with a blowout loss at BC. Who else is in the running? Clemson?

Clemson was in the driver seat for #2 until they kicked the pooch big time last week, with two ugly losses.

Oops. The result is switched on Rich Kern's site. I am glad that I can still read and wasn't imagining that.

If so, things get interesting if Duke hangs on to the regular season lead but fails to win the ACC tourney. This tends to happen in the ACC, where the regular season champ fumbles in the conference tourney.

then one bid it is.... (thanks for the heads up) I say 2 bids....remember me when it happens impress me a little more and pick the second team to dance... ;D Clemson, Virginia and Florida St are hovering w/in 3 spots of each other in the RPI that was just released (right around the 70 mark). And there is a logjam after Duke in the ACC standings, w/those 3 teams (along with Wake) with 3 or 4 losses each. The ACC teams have basically been beating up on each other... how do you pick a second team to go, especially if 2 or more end up tying in the league standings ... a definite possibility the way things have been playing out so far.

I don't think the ACC has been deserving of more than one bid in the history of the conference.

I don't think the ACC has been deserving of more than one bid in the history of the conference. In 2003, GTech and Maryland. GTech was the ranked team and got a seed in the post-season. MD also had a solid year -- They actually took 2 of 3 from GTech that season, including the ACC final and the auto bid to the NCAA. Let's not forget the hurdle GTech posed for the Wahine in the regional final that year ...
