USC swept WSU 3-0: 30-24, -18, -15
From WSU's website:
PULLMAN, Wash. - Asia Kaczor and Diane Copenhagen combined for 29 kills to lead the No. 5 Southern California volleyball team to a 30-24, 30-18, 30-15 defeat of Washington State Friday night before 669 fans at Bohler Gym.
Kaczor's 15 kills (.353) and Copenhagen's 14 kills (.522) gave USC (19-3 overall, 8-3 Pac-10) a dominating offense as the Women of Troy needed only 80 minutes to dispense the Cougs. Match-highs were tallied by libero Debora Seilhamer with 28 digs and three aces, and Katelyn Bishop's six blocks. Taylor Carico had 47 assists.
Senior Kelly Rosin led the Cougars (14-11 overall, 2-9 in Pac-10) with a match-high 17 kills. Brittany Johnson added 11 kills and each played also had a pair of blocks. Kelly Hyder and Stephanie Weishaar combined for 25 digs. Corina Beyer had 28 assists.
"Tonight I look at our performance and it's not a typical performance from us offensively, and not a typical performance from us defensively," Cougar Head Coach Brian Heffernan said. "A lot of that has to do with our opponent. I had some good conversations with Dick Bennett (WSU's men's basketball coach at the time) when I first arrived here about how there will be moments in time when you feel like it's a break-through moment, then sometimes you get a slap of reality. All these moments are moments we can either choose to allow us to get better or cause erosion. We can't take this loss into tomorrow; we have to get focused on the next task, and come back."
Washington State travels to Oregon and Oregon State next week for a Thursday night match in Eugene and a Friday night match at Corvallis.

LOS ANGELES -- After a 3-1 loss last night at No. 6 Washington, the No. 5 USC Women of Troy responded Friday with a convincing 3-0 sweep (30-24, 30-18, 30-15) at Washington State in Pullman, Wash. USC hit .383 on the evening and finished game three with a .444 clip to improve to 19-3 overall and 8-3 in Pac-10 play.
Washington State falls to 14-11 on the season and 2-9 in conference.

From the box score, Bishop had a big night with 10 kills (.333) and 6 blocks (1 BS and 5 BA).
Given that Bishop got 21 swings and Johansen only 6 swings, Haley may have switched the MBs around, with Bishop being M1 and Johansen being M2. Maybe someone at the match can confirm this.
Great performance by the team in not letting the loss by UW upsetting their focus. Low team hitting errors with .383 hitting %, which I think was their season-high (at least for Pac-10 match).
