So speaking of Arizona, they're now 10-13. With 7 matches remaining, they would have to go 6-1 in order to finish with a winning record. 16-14 overall and 7-11 in the Pac-10 would probably do it, but here's their schedule: at USC at UCLA Oregon Oregon State at Washington at Washington State at Arizona State If their NCAA Tournament chances were in doubt a few weeks ago, I think they're pretty much doomed now. When was the last time Arizona didn't make the NCAA Tournament?

Looks like everyone but Hernandez and Fisher played. Great match ladies, keep up the nice work.

There is no way in hell that they could win two of three against UCLA, USC, and Washington unless it was Halloween and some other people came in dressed as those teams. Since it is too late for that, and I don't think Northern Arizona is available to play six matches, Arizona is done for this year. WSU and ASU will also be tough for them. When was the last time a team went from the Elite Eight to missing the tournament? Yikes. I see that Dosty is hitting .119. Welcome to the Pac 10, freshman, apparently. Also, Foluke's 17 kills and .850 is very impressive, no matter how much the Wildcats are struggling. They can block, at least, and they had no answer.

I was thinking that Foluke may get POW awards. But then Dolgner had great numbers in the upset against PSU. But then I remembered that the AVCA likes to reward those who have great numbers against weaker teams, so Foluke has a chance.

I just hope the Badgers win against OSU so Dolgner or any other Badger would be in the running for awards. They had a good season last year without any POW awards, so that isn't too big of a deal. I think that anyone would have trouble arguing against a weekend with 32 kills in six games and a clip of .700. That is freakishly good, and I think the goggles look cool as well, although she might be wearing them for medical reasons, I forget.

Yeah she got hit in the eye when blocking in Canada with the JNT and every since then, has worn them.

With memories of Cynthia Barboza's best individual weekend last year getting stiffed, I expect someone from UW (Washington) to win Pac-10 POW and someone else from another UW (Wisconsin) to win Big Ten and National POW.

No one from Wisconsin had great overall numbers on the weekend, which is usually the case when the Badgers are going well. Reineke had a big match against OSU today with 14 kills at a .711 clip and 7 blocks, but she had 9 kills at .353 and 4 blocks against PSU. She played very well in that match too, actually, but those numbers overall don't scream player of the week, esepecially nationally. Simpson's numbers were similarly good but not incredible overall. Dolgner hit .040 today. It shows that the Badgers swept the weekend because everyone contributed, which is a good thing from a team standpoint.
