Ok, somebody had to start it...
Nebraska holds at #1
Penn State drops, probably only a spot, to #3
Stanford moves up from #3 to #2
Washington jumps over both UCLA and USC with their victories over both of them this weekend, so they're #4
UCLA probably only drops a spot to #5
USC does the same (ie. - only drops one slot) and goes to #6
The rest of the poll is up to all of you to begin discussing. I know the above is a "Captain Obvious" post, but like I said, someone had to get the conversation going, but that doesn't mean I have to do the whole poll! ;D

Hawaii should move up to 7 with their powerful win over Idaho. :-D :-D Idaho should move into the top 25 with their powerful presence in front of more people than they have ever seen assembled before, to say nothing of having battled through several time zones into a radically different climate where most of the food available was not canned. I also think that the top ten "should" be (not to be confused with how I think the AVCA ranking will be): Nebraska Stanford Washington UCLA Penn State USC Wisconsin Minnesota Florida Texas

Uh....... I've been to Idaho. I saw so many cows next to the freeways that I wouldn't be surprised if people slaughtered their own meat every time they wanted a hamburger.

I hope that the Badgers can beat Ohio State so that poll voters will have to decide what to do about them versus Purdue and Minnesota. It would also enhance their chances of hosting the first two rounds, which is a big deal, given their recent home/road splits in performance. At home, they have really looked like a top ten team recently, even before the PSU match. On the road, not so much.

I think (R)uffda's arguments regarding the Pac 10 would really get a boost if they did. How can you say that losing to the #14 team and beating the #11 team on the road drops you below another team that also lost this weekend? I know that Washington is very good, but I don't think that PSU should drop below UCLA, since their loss might have been worse, but their win was better than UCLA's. I also don't see Wisconsin or Minnesota moving over Florida or Texas, even if the Badgers win tomorrow. Minnesota lost, so they should stay where they are probably, and Wisconsin lost to Texas and shouldn't move over them unless Texas loses to someone other than Nebraska or they manage to win out.

A pretty big jump for just one win for Wisconsin And Penn State will not be ranked below UCLA

As already stated, there's no way that Penn State drops that low. They'll be #3, like it or not.

I also think that the top ten "should" be (not to be confused with how I think the AVCA ranking will be): I think most of y'all read publius' rankings of teams and missed the comment I quoted above from his post. His ranking was meant to be how he thought the teams ought to be ranked not how he thought the AVCA will rank the teams. Frankly, I'm personally expecting Penn State to drop at least 2 spots, Minnesota to lose points but may or may not drop a spot (or more) and Wisconsin to gain points and move up at least on spot (as long as they defeat Ohio State.)

Um... relax folks. Publius said: I agree that Penn State won't be ranked below Washington. Voters are going to look at 1 loss vs. 3 losses and be very reluctant to vote Washington any higher than #4. I expect Stanford to will get some of Penn State's 1st place votes though, and I expect some Nebraska fans to find that incomprehensible. My take on the top 10: 1. Nebraska 2. Stanford 3. Penn State 4. Washington 5. UCLA 6. USC 7. Florida 8. Texas 9. Utah 10. LSU I'm guessing Wisconsin will go up 2 slots, not just 1. They beat Penn State and Minnesota didn't.

My guess (and my own ranking, without today's matches):
1--Nebraska (1) 2--Stanford (2) 3--Penn State (3) 4--Washington (4) 5--UCLA (5) 6--USC (8) 7--Florida (6) 8--Texas (7) 9--Utah (9) 10--LSU (10)
11--California (18?) 12--Wisconsin (12) 13--Minnesota (11) 14--Purdue (13) 15--Hawaii (14) 16--San Diego (20?) 17--BYU (17?) 18--Oklahoma (21) 19--Missouri (?) 20--Cal Poly (16)
21--Santa Clara (22) 22--Ohio (23) 23--NMSU (19) 24--Oregon (15?) 25--St. Johns (24?)
I'm still hashing out 11-25. But I have LBSU at #25.
Rough week for top 30 teams Sac State, Duke, Missouri, Ohio State. But there's not much there to replace them.
